Restaurant 1877 Bergen Reviews
Good food but….
This place is expensive even by Norwegian standards but the food was very good. We had the wine pairing which was disappointing as it was 3 very small glasses of wine and one of cider. I think the guy behind the bar drank more than we did! Happy to pay for good food but not to be taken for mugs with moderate wine at £50 a head. One of the wines we know retails at £15 in the U.K.
Nice atmosphere, pleasant service, but way too expensive
The 3-course meal was nothing special but well prepared. The accompanying wine/cider package was interesting. The service was excellent. But the price was over the top.
Wonderful food wonderful service
We walked in about 6 . The restaurant had just open for the evening. We were interested in eating at that time. We were given a wonderful table and had a great dinner.
Well worth a visit
We had a delicious meal of local fresh meat, vegetables and fish, perfectly cooked. The seafood soup was outstanding. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Very helpful with the wine list. Lovely atmosphere. Don't let the limited menu stop you. They only cook the freshest available. Well worth a visit.
