Great recommendation from the server .
. flank steak. They have a special with an entree and ice cream .. in house beer was a great compliment to the flank steak. A must experience .. beautiful inside ..
A good place to grab dinner before a show at Ford's Theatre.
Cocktails were good and delivered quickly. The wings were my favorite part of dinner. They are seasoned well! Steak and burger were solid. I wish the happy hour extended beyond the bar since the bar area isn't that big.
Please take note...
Went tonight for Dinner...the food was excellent...the service and attitude were NOT...certainly lessened the pleasure of our evening out.

What a find! Blew in for the weekend and happened across this place. Fried chicken is incredible. Succotash is hard to stop eating, so we didn't! lol Mac and cheese, bacon, biscuits with amazing apple butter! Watermelon with spicy peanuts wa
We went here during our Washington DC trip.
We wanted to try Edward Lee's restaurant after watching his show and seeing him on the Culinary War on Netflix. Luckily, it was also restaurant week, so we were able to try the full restaurant week menu for a good price. Overall, the food was ve

Came here for dinner and the food was solid.
A good amount of options if you like southern food. The setting is very nice, and we sat on the balcony. Service was also really good! Overall a good experience
The restaurant is well decorated and comfy to dine in.
Our table tried the Taste of South. The courses were all delicious southern food with a little twist.
Great locale for special occasions.
I often bring colleagues and family (when they're passing through town) here. The food is fresh, and the dishes are inventive. The service is always on point, and the dining area is always a crowd pleaser. While one wouldn't think southern
Came here for Chef Edward Lee! Sadly, no celebrity chef
Came here for Chef Edward Lee! Sadly, no celebrity chef sighting, but the food was amazing! I especially loved the dirty chicken for the entree. It was super juicy and I found the bleu cheese and gochoojang combo to be super interesting. I also loved
Generally good quality food and a nice interior.
The serving sizes for our party of four during the Sunday brunch were small considering the moderate to high price point. One piece of the fried chicken was also half raw. Also, our server seemed to be sleepwalking through his ahift.
We were so disappointed and a little surprised.
There were only three groups of Asian diners. And they put all three groups on the second floor, grouped all on one side even though there were tables in the first floor and the othe side, one next to one another. Hopefully that was not intentional b
Lunch
My husband and brother went here for a late lunch while in DC. We shared an appetizer of chicken wings. They were good. For my main dish, I had the chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was crispy. It was a good dish. My brother really enjoyed the s
My advice, avoid this place! Food is not good and service is even worse.
Had lunch here yesterday with my daughters. First unwelcoming encounter at the front, they just decided to sit us by the restroom door. The waitress was shamelessly bothered to answer our questions about the menu, you could tell many ingredients in o
Skip this spot! Not worth the money!! Seriously, please read to the end.
I booked this spot hoping to have an amazing Mother's Day Brunch with my husband and 2 children. The menu and ambiance looked so inviting, HOWEVER, the staff at the front was exactly the opposite. I am in utter disbelief at how a place, so seem
First night great food
Great service excellent food. The ribs were fantastic and the filet w the peppercorn sauce was delicious. Join in kind rewards and get a coupon. Deal!
Fab restaurant
Wow what a fabulous meal. We loved it. The service is top class. Everything was wonderful. This is a proper restaurant serving much more than burgers- restaurants like this are sometimes difficult to find in Washington DC.
A Creative Take On Southern Cuisine
Had a good dinner here. Solid deviled eggs and a creative take on buffalo cauliflower. Shrimp and grits were also decent- a nice large portion with all of the appropriate/ expected flavors. Great service from Jason- attentive, but not rushed.
SUCCOTASH PRIME
My wife and I have been big fans of Chef Edward Lee, so we made a special occasion to visit SUCCOTASH DC on Monday, March 17, 2025, for the first time. We were the first guests of the lunch (11:30 am reservation) and ordered the Express from the menu
Classy Sweet Corn Succotash
I have mixed feeling about the cuisine: somehow, my mind could not hold together Chicken on Waffle in Marple Syrup, Kimchi-Ham combo and Austrian Gruner. So, I’ve decided consume all items separately. The Bar: Consider this after your office hours
Beyond Excellent Southern Comfort!
Simply the best shrimp and grits of my life! The hush puppies, the corn cakes, the deviled eggs, the grits with sausage gravy! The HUMMINGBIRD cake for dessert!! We were in HEAVEN!!! GO GO GO!!!!

I don't see how it's Michelin rated! 🤮
My husband, toddler son and I dined here last week on a trip to DC and while the restaurant itself was aesthetically pleasing and the service itself was top tier the food was probably the worst food we ate in DC. I had the shrimp and grits and my hus
Southern Brunch Classics!
We had the brunch 3 course tasting. I can't begin to describe how good it was. The fried chicken with the chicken & waffles was the crunchiest, juiciest, most flavorful fried chicken ever. Don't even get me started on the Shrimp and grits! I live
Incredible Meal
Very neat ambiance as the building used to be a bank. Tow floors with ample seating and roominess between tables. Wait staff is very knowledgeable of menu. Large selection form the bar with a huge bourbon selection. We started with the Pimento Ch
Satisfying - mostly
Had Xmas eve dinner here with hubby and daughter. Daughter had dirty chicken - though to be fair she declined the blue cheese sauce which probably adds another dimension to the dish. She really liked it - I found it very spicy. Huge portion. Husband
Amazing meal
Lovely ambience and décor and GREAT food. The devilled eggs and mini corn muffins were a pleasant shared starter, and the petit filet mignon was the BEST steak I've ever had - practically melted in the mouth. Tried the creamy succotash (it did see
Good food with a good price
At the time of checking places to eat. I didn't know it was owned by the celebrity Chef Edward Lee. I choose the place as it look architecturally interesting. I ordered a quick lunch, skirt steak with fries and salad, followed by a mint ice cream. T
Extremely Disappointed
We went to Succotash Prime for dinner to celebrate my sister’s birthday. I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The grits were very lumpy and the meal pretty much tasteless. My 14 year old daughter ordered the file
Initiative 82 really?
it is the principal that the prices are high enough not to do this kind of thing to customers. Added a 3.5% fee to the bill. Lost a star from me. Moving on now the review - Unbelievably beautiful dining area that was very airy, elegant and spaced out
A truly amazing experience!!!
One of our favorite dining experiences we have ever had! From the cornbread and the hush puppies to coconut shrimp and the chicken and waffles. The BBQ ribs and the banana pudding, everything was total perfection! We ordered a good amount of fried
Wonderful experience
Excellent experience. They were able to accommodate our party without reservation. The food was phenomenal and our server Trish was the absolute best ! I will definitely return! The deviled eggs and smoked wings were fantastic!
Exceeded Expectations
We were visiting from out of town and dined here for my birthday. I watch a lot of cooking shows, and was very excited to eat at an Edward Lee restaurant. His staff and food exceeded my expectations. The space is beautiful. We received a warm greetin
Food great. Service bizarre.
Our family of 2 adults, 2 teenagers arrived at 6:20 for our 6:30 reservation. Hostess took our name. About a minute later, we saw a booth table being cleaned off, and I’d noticed one other clean and set table open. When the booth was cleaned and se
Chicken and Waffles never Arrived
Went to Succotash to get delicious chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits before a Caps game. Sat at the bar. The drinks were fantastic, the shrimp and grits were good too. I ordered chicken and waffles and watermelon and fried peanut salad. A
Faux Southern
This restaurant was average. It’s supposed to be a restaurant with southern cuisine, but IMHO it’s a restaurant just trying to be southern—or “faux southern” as I like to call it. It might fool some folks, but not southerners.
Excellent service and food
Our waitress was amazing and the duck dish that I had was excellent (though the waitress immediately saw that the duck was not cooked when it first arrived and whisked it back to the kitchen before I could say anything). The restaurant is busy and t
Best Waffles Ever
My first Michelin-star restaurant. My wife wants to drive back to DC just to go here again. The waffles are outstanding as was the service. A bit pricey but worth the splurge and it is not even expensive by Manhattan standards. Will return.
Menu with southern spin
Arrived without reservation Sunday noonish... The wait was 30 minutes so we decided to stay. FYI, property info on TA is out of date as proof of immunizations wasn't requested. Stood outside until the table was ready. Food was as one would expect a
Succotash Prime is a great place to eat. Had lunch there. Chicken and waffles& crab cakes sandwiches. Delicious
My wife and I had a great lunch at Succotash in DC. Has taken the Big Bus Tour of DC had stopped for lunch and eat at Succotash
Good variety of tasty food.
Our server was terrific, explaining the specials and making menu and cocktail recommendations. Two of us had ribs, one a burger, and I had chicken and waffles, which were perfect.
Win. Win
Great Food and Service! We decided to try the Taste of the South. It is served family style for at least 2 people. There were 2 of us that shared the meal. It was a bit too much food. Everything was really good, but there were a few items that we esp
