La Poule au Pot Paris avis
My favorite restaurant in Paris and it's not even close.
Authentic as it gets with their French onion soup and their steak is out of this world.
Will not recommend at all
Would not recommend at all. We were looking for a restaurant where we could taste authentic French food and drink wine. It took an incredibly long time to get a table. When we finally got a table and told what we wanted to eat we got a mocking reacti
Charming place with perfect onion soup
Booked this restaurant ahead of time, situated close to Louvre. It is a small, classic place. Onion soup was perfect, and that was also the main reason for going there. The rest of the food was good, service also very good. A bit pricey, but then aga

A nearby wine shop recommended this restaurant, without telling us it had a Michelin star. We walked in for lunch without a reservation and got the last open table. We had a light lunch, a selection of traditional appetizers, and some fantastic win

The service was good, the place is classically beautiful inside, and the food we ordered was tasty (escargot and frogs legs, at least; we did not enjoy the pate en croute). The prices are so high, we stopped there and left before trying the eponymous
Totally overrated, overpriced and arrogant. Don't recommend!
This is restaurant to cheat tourist. The food is mediocre. The price tag doesn't justify the quality of the food. The staff was a bit arrogant.
Scandal
We liked the idea of trying this brasserie endorsed by a prestigious chef. What a mistake: friendly setting but excessively noisy, some members of the staff barely trained, and above all much too expensive, the wine list is a real scam: crazy coeffic
Don't waste your money
Nice first impression. Exorbitant price. The head waiter is on another planet, disturbing. The servers do their best. In terms of cooking, the duck confit is dry, the potatoes rather burnt, the tartare "purée". In short, not brasserie cuis
Expensive and disappointed
Small typical restaurant. Nice setting. Fast service. Good starter but the main dishes seemed to be reheated and my rice was not cooked. The duck was dry. Paying more than 250 euros for this mediocre quality I say no. Very expensive wines. In short,
What an experience!🎶🥁👩 🎤🎸🧅🐌🐓
Reserved for two weeks prior. Anticipated with great hope. Arrived at 7 and greeted by the manager who was very ‘enthusiastic’. Seated promptly. Water provided, with food menus, but no wine menu. Sat a good 15-20 min before a wine menu was provi
Terrible experience
This restaurant was a terrible experience. Over priced. Understaffed, very mediocre food, expensive wine list and they didn’t even knew how to do a proper vodka martini. I strongly recommend to avoid this scam.
Luxury dining at its best in the first Parisian arrondissement
Reservations for 2 on hand - this is a must in this very popular French restaurant! We were seated right away, near the bar (not all too bad); The very polite and unobtrusive wait staff was very helpful in finding the right wine and the menu explan
Very dear disappointment...
I waited so long to go there and what a disappointment! It's good, nothing more, classic brasserie cuisine. Wines by the glass without shine. An astronomical addition, we pay the name of the Chef, but the quality is not up to par. I leave this trap t
Very disappointed
What disappointments!!!!!!! really for tourists. the very average service the canteen style dishes. really these so-called great chefs should be a little more respectful of the customers. all this one day it should be ordered. we are in a virtual wor
Great
Great Parisian restaurant, over 100 years old. The food is good, service is fast. We had a great time. Highly recommend.
Chicken in a Pot!
First off , there are 2 locations in Paris. We went to the one near Les Invalides on Rue L'Universite. My wife and I both got the signature Poulee au Pot (Chicken in a pot) which has chicken with potatoes and carrots that are simmering in a nice bro

We came here for our last dinner in Paris - though we were a bit full (and the server seemed disappointed we ordered so little), we enjoyed the dishes we ordered! I grew to love the pink tablecloths and was surprised to hear throwback American pop
Simply everything you could from a Parisian bistro.
The food and ambiance are sublime. The service is professional but slightly guff, but that is also part of the ambiance. Great experience.

My partner and I arrived at Poule au Pot no more than a minute or two late for a 9:00 p.m. reservation that had been made through the restaurant's online reservation system almost a month in advance. Upon arriving and greeting the host and mentionin
One of the most charming and delicious restaurants in Paris.
I discovered this place in 2017 when I visited from New York City. It was so good that I put it on my list to try again and when I came back in 2023 I went with my wife and daughter. It was once again fantastic.!
A gem.
Loved this place. Favorite meal of this stay. Very good food, terrific atmosphere and good service. A neighborhood gem with a real flavor of Paris
Excellent all round
A wonderful meal. The food, atmosphere and service were all 10/10. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough
Rude and Nasty
We were so looking forward to having a nice, memorable evening here. We reserved (for 2) well in advance and were the first to arrive at the restaurant (early). They sat us at the very back table where the kitchen door swung open had closed almos
Tourist Trapped
We wanted a charming neighborhood-y place for dinner our first night in Paris - nothing fancy, just a decent, old-school Parisian neighborhood place. Unfortunately, Poule au Pot is not that. What we found was average food at fancy prices in a tired a
Sublime
Easily the best meal I’ve ever had! If authenticity is what you’re after, come here. It is expensive though, so one for an occasion.
A tourist trap
The restaurant is charming inside and the staff are friendly and accommodating but it is clear that the chef no longer cares about the quality of the food he or she puts out. The salad and bone marrow was good but the "Le Poule au Pot" was
