Fantastic! Food, service, and atmosphere was on point.
Prosciutto and Pineapple appetizer A+, the polenta cake paired with it is fire . Orechiette Nero pasta dish is legit, so good. Completed meal with pistachio gellato served with zeppoles was delicious. Want an A+ meal in Mammoth Lakes Volcania is a must stop.

My family of 4 was passing by and trying to decide what to eat. We stumbled across Vulcania and the Food & service was excellent!
Dont bother going.
Rude waiter and slow service. We sat for 16 mins without anyone asking what we wanted or even a glass of water. Very disappointing!
I was so excited to try out this restaurant on our vacation
I was so excited to try out this restaurant on our vacation last night. My 3 year old daughter and I were hungry and excited for our mommy/daughter date. We were there a few minutes before it opened, and when they opened up the host was rather rude when I told him it was just me and my child, and was very confused that we didn't have others in our party. It's off-season, maybe a few other patrons at the restaurant, and we sat for 26 minutes, with only water service. Never met our server and gave up and went back to our air bnb and ate a frozen pizza. I was so sad, and especially with it not being crowded even in the slightest. What a bummer!
We had a reservation party of four.
We handmt reserved an outside tent but since it wasn't busy requested one and the manager was kind enough to seat us there. Had a fantastic evening. Cam was our waiter. Timely, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. Food was fresh, tasted great and served in good time. We would definitely go back!
This is our second visit all the way from the south inland
This is our second visit all the way from the south inland empire and you would think we came for the food, which is amazing for sure, but what we really came for was the service. The ambience is amazing, the food is spot on, but the service, especially Julie, that's why we came back. She makes you feel like family, like she's known you forever all while bustling around from table to table and not skipping a beat. I hope this place knows what they've got. She's the real deal. We'll be back again and again as long as they keep Julie.
Service is awful.
Celebrity chef marketing is meaningless. Menu is average at best. They survive off of their location(got it to 2 stars). Not worth the price.
Good quick service.
Perfect al dented pastas. Had the Ravioli Bolonese and the Orchetti.
Outstanding experience we sat out on the patio Services.
Great drinks were great and food was awesome. This is a must stop for you if you're up in the mammoth area the ambience is spectacular.
I'm actually shocked this restaurant doesn't have better
I'm actually shocked this restaurant doesn't have better ratings. The drinks and food both beat out all of our expectations. Not picture but my boyfriend also had the ravioli bolognese which was also very good. Definitely one of the better spots to eat in the village.
Sad server
I wanted to like this so much more. Pizza was good, salad was too big for 2, service was acceptable, but server was frowney faced the whole time like she hated her job. Ruined my experience.
Terrible Twosome
Neither the food nor the service was any good. Over rated food with their own version. Ordered the lamb bolognese, oily. We ordered the tiramisu, turned out to be a heated brownie with a ton of whipped cream. The server never came back for refill on drinks or water.
Poor experience
First I have to start with I love the Voltaggio Brothers and have watch most if not all of their appearances on numerous cooking shows. The food was great ! THE EXPERIENCE IS A NEGATIVE 10. We went to the restaurant last year and it was great so we wanted to go back again. We booked the first reservation at 5:00 pm for a party of 4. I sent another communication to the restaurant asking for an outdoor IGLOO seating. These are some very cool outdoor pods you can sit and eat in and watch the beautiful surroundings and have an intimate experience. We got there right at 5 and the 5:00 igloo was taken. There was a 5:15 igloo available and we were told we could wait but if a bigger party came in they would get it even if they did not request it. They wanted them for a bigger party and they were pretty curt. I get it you guys are in business to make money so why don't you not punish a party of 4 and just put a minimum spending amount on an igloo. We would have been glad to spend the same or more than a party of 6 to enjoy the experience. You guys are always thinking outside the box so give this a thought. Thanks
:} Unique Outdoor Dome Dinning :}
Had a amazing memorable dinner at Vulcania last night before we drove back to San Fan on Friday , with hotel staff strongly recommendation ! I was surprised over the moon got the outdoor heated Dome reservation , Kids so thrilled and their first time to have the dinning experience like that , Dome very spacious cozy atmosphere and the menu have lot of selection , not expensive for Ski restaurant , whole entrees so delicious , from my Rib eye to the Kids Pepperoni pizza , good quality and portion size and there is two hours time limited for dinning , professional friendly service , do not miss a beat and never feel been rush at all , special our wine bottle , unique dinning experience for every one , 20% tips is worth every snowflake , so if you looking for a nice quality food in the Village , must try the Vulcania for sure you will thank me for it !
Horrible service and food! Avoid this dump!
Service was awful. My wife’s dish was out 30 minutes late. Horrible taste. Had to force them to eat the cost. If you’re not a party of 5 or more they treat you like garbage! Avoid their garbage restaurant. Pissed off from Boston.
Great spot in the village. Sit at the bar!
We happened upon Vulcania while walking through the village. It was such a great find we went two nights in a row! Both times we sat at the bar which was a fun experience. Food was great - pasta, pizza and salads were all top-notch. Good wine selections, too.
Top notch service and a meal to remember
This restaurant is really special and the manager David went beyond his duty to make sure we had a pleasurable meal. The food is excellent and service is top notch. i was very impressed and i've gone to fine dining all over the world. Thank you for making dinner a special occasion! Loved the pastas, appetizers and chicken parmigiana. Definitely one of the most delicious meals I've had outside.
Great. (if you’re on a diet!)
This place is always crowded but we can’t figure out why. For two drinks, one appetizer and bread it was $68 the portions are small and the sauce is sparse. We were shocked that a side of bread was $10 for three small pieces. They finished it with lemon infused olive oil, which made it smell like Pledge. The bartender was very nice, I’d say the service is fast, it seems like they want to turn tables quickly. Mountain owned, cashless and plan to spend a lot to leave full
Beautiful Ambiance, so-so Food
We were really sick of the typical pizza, burgers and mexican food around Mammoth so we decided to give Vulcania a try. It had beautiful ambiance in an upscale atmosphere. They even played old 80's music which for us old timers, was a plus, rather than hearing pop, rap and hip hop, like you do in other places. Food was pretty good but honestly, for the prices and nice atmosphere, I was expecting better. The food is served family style so it is best to order dishes to share, so you can try various items. The caesar salad was the best item we ordered, garnished with yummy arancini. We also had to try the Voltaggi-o's which was a play on spaghettios, but the dish unfortunately tasted too much like spaghettios for our liking. Not sure what we were expecting but curiousity got the best of us. We ended with the branzino but by then we were pretty stuffed and couldn't eat much more. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere but wished the food lived up to the hype.
