Stopped by during happy hour Service was okay Food was meh nothing special We ordered 8 different items and nothing stood out.
Had the best Lychee Martini ever during the happy hour.
The atmosphere is so sophisticated, and the service was prompt, the waitress frequently stopped by our table and made sure we got all that we wanted ordered before the happy hour service ended. It was a quick pit stop but well worth it!

The weather has been so nice in the evening, we wanted an outside table. The host seated right away, no wait, even with a pretty packed house! Our waiter came out as soon as we were seated, took our orders and came back with our drinks right away! He came back to check on us frequently. You can see that everyone worked well together, like a well oiled machine, to get you in and out! I will definitely return.
Every item we had here was delicious.
Loved the Asian fusion style. We tried the roti (amazing sauce!), chicken saate, sashimi, and fried rice bowl. Will definitely be back when we are in town!

The food was flavorful and well-presented--especially the roti prata and beef rendang. The vibe is lively and stylish, great for a night out with friends.

This was the best dessert of my life! Definitely a must have. Their service was amazing, the waiters are very kind. The restaurant had a DJ, lounge, bar, and definitely lots of good choices to eat from. Try this place if you're visiting Santana row!

Our last experience here was really bad but Straits invited us back to give them another try. This experience on Thursday night was 1000x better. I really applaud this restaurant for taking the time to try to make things right for the customer. We had reservations for 8:30pm here but it wasn't that busy. The host took us in right away and was really nice. Our server, Tuan, came immediately to our table and was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He went over his recommendations and put in our orders quickly. We ordered the chicken skewers, roti (my favorite), and the wings for appetizers. All were really great and came out quick. I love the peanut butter sauce that goes with the skewers and the curry sauce for the roti. For entrees, we ordered the traditional fried rice (delicious and very cheap for the amount you get), bone marrow, and eggplant. The food here is wonderful and I love how they have such a wide variety of items on the menu. They came around so many times to pre-buss and refill our waters as well. Thank you Tuan and Straits for an amazing experience this time around!

Great ambiance, fun place to be at night time! Kas is an amazing waitress! She is very knowledgeable, attentive, professional, and friendly. She answered all the questions we had about the menu and gave great recommendations. I always ask for Kas when I go there and she ensures that I always leave with a positive experience :)
Straits is a solid option if you're looking for a nice
Straits is a solid option if you're looking for a nice place to grab happy hour during the week, or when you're going out on the weekend too. The bartenders are super nice, Derek, Abiy, Graham, also all of the waitresses are beauties, so hats off to whoever does the hiring! The food is good too, try the happy hour menu, the chicken lollipops and fried rice are amazing. Not too pricey either

My team and I traveled to San Jose for a company offsite and decided to reserve a space/table for our group of 18 at Straits - Santana Row. Lillian did an amazing job in helping me with our reservation and making sure our team had a semi-private area due to their party room already being reserved. Lillian also made suggestions for our family style menu that did NOT dissapoint! Upon arrival, we were sat immediately and our waitress, Annie was there ready to take drink orders and the first thing she asked was if there are any other dietary restrictions she should know about. Annie did an outstanding job accomodating our dietary needs and in making sure everyone at our table (all 18 people) were enjoying the food. She was there immediately after we finished our drinks to see if we'd like another. Food was great and our service was even better! 11/10 would definitely reccomend and our team will absolutely be returning the next time we are in town.
Overrated, overpriced with average food and poor service
I generally write very positive reviews of restaurants and hotels because I’ve been in the hospitality business for a long time, so I know how much it hurts when someone doesn’t like your service. However, this is an exception. I preface my comments by stating that I’ve lived in Southeast Asia for 10 years of my life and I’m very familiar with the cuisine. Let me begin with the food, which was very disappointing. The Phad Thai was good, but my local Thai restaurant makes better and it’s only $18. The garlic noodles were mediocre at best. The Chicken Tikka was also good, but the one you can get as a prepared dinner at Trader Joe’s is just as good. Additionally, it isn’t served with rice and the server didn’t even suggest it. Honestly, the hawker stalls in Singapore have much better food and for a lot less money. Their food is way overpriced for what you get!! As for the service, poor is the only rating I can give. I hate to say it, but the scantily clad female servers don’t seem to have been hired because of their service skills. I know she was covering both inside and outside tables, but that’s just poor scheduling and she couldn’t handle it. As mentioned, there was no suggestion of rice with the dishes. We had to ask for chopsticks and then they were the wooden ones in a paper wrapper we got after a long wait, but then we still didn’t have all the food yet. Surely, a restaurant of this caliber should have high quality chopsticks and include them in the place setting. We ate outside, which was enjoyable as the inside is decorated more like a bar than a restaurant. Noisy too. On top of all of this, I paid by Apple Pay, but didn’t get an itemized receipt. I followed up with a call the next stay and the women said I could send an email, but she didn’t know the address, so I’d have to look it up online. Well, it wasn’t easy to find, but I did. Still waiting 5 days later for a response. I lived in San Jose when this place first opened, and I remember eating there once for lunch and enjoying it. So, I went there this time looking forward to a special meal on this trip. Regrettably, It was memorable for the wrong reasons.

Enjoyed a nice dinner out with great food and excellent service from our server, Jessica. We enjoyed the Chinese chicken salad, Hainan chicken, and yellow curry. Everything was very flavorful. Food came out quickly. Jessica was attentive and charismatic!

She was super attentive and so sweet! We're from Sacramento just looking for a good apps & drink spot & so glad we came across this place! The brunch spam fried rice on the brunch menu was amazing, as were the crispy wontons! :)

I'm not sure why the rating here is low because this is our favourite Singaporean restaurant. We've been here a handful of different times since we moved to the Bay Area and the food has been consistently good. If it is any added reassurance, my husband grew up in Singapore and Straits has his stamp of approval. Throughout our visits we've had: Roti Prata - 5/5 got this for my 5yo daughter but was very tempted to steal it for myself after trying it Beef Rendang - 5/5 so far my favourite dish here. Deliciously coconutty and rich in flavour. Beef is super tender -- a must try! Lemongrass Beef - 5/5 very very delicious and flavourful. I don't know if I'll order it again because it's more on the pricy side and their other dishes are equally delicious, but it's definitely worth trying at least once! Side bowl of hiananese chicken rice - 5/5 we actually wanted to get the Hainanese chicken dish, but they were out of the chicken so we got just the side rice for our daughter. This was SUPER flavourful and now I'm itching to taste the actual chicken itself! We've ordered a handful of other chicken & beef dishes that I cannot for the life of me remember right now. But all you really need to know is that no matter what you order here, it'll certainly be good. I should also add that we always come here with our 2 young kids and Straits' dim, loungey vibe has not made the experience any less ideal. As long as their service, flavour, and quality is consistent, we will continue to be back here!

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember, for at least 20 years. Santana Row has always been a hit or miss type place. Sometimes is is super quiet and other times, it is a really fun vibe/scene. When the weather gets warm, this is the spot to be. Grab some pepper garlic noodles (it was a bit overpowering with too much pepper tho) and spicy & salted chicken wings, drinks and bring your friends to have a good time! You come here to have a good time with your friends, versus a fine dining type spot. Be sure to get reservations on the weekend. s/o to our server Preston, who took care of our table on the patio. i left the left overs with the front desk hostess, so my friend and I could walk around Santana Row and Valley Fair, and when I came back to pick up my food, Preston remembered my name still. Great customer service! There used to be a location in SF and Burlingame, but both have since closed.

The food was good, and the restaurant itself was a nice vibe. Would have merited a five star food experience, but - Our main course came out maybe 5-10 minutes before we got our appetizer - We ordered non alcoholic drinks with our meal, never got them. By the time we realized this we had already finished the main and were wrapping up the appetizer - Please just call your Fries Fries... don't try to be confusing people with the word "Frites".... Also, music was so loud I couldn't talk to the person across the table from me :/

I was looking forward to eating here after hearing about it from one of my colleagues. The restaurant is in Santana Row which can make parking challenging but not impossible. The seating in the restaurant was split between tables and a lounge area. I loved the accent lighting and decorations. The service was quick and really nice. Their menu was pretty extensive so I tried to order what I saw was popular on Yelp. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the oyster appetizer. Super fresh and we loved the vinegar sauce. The roti appetizer was delicious but small. I wish it was bigger because it was so good. Moving onto the entrees, we got the garlic noodles and shaking beef. The beef was more on the rare side which I didn't mind but maybe take note of that if you like it cooked differently. The garlic noodles had a lot of pepper which overpowered the garlic in my opinion. Overall, it was a fun dining experience! I want to come back for their happy hour or bottomless mimosas.

Not only was the food amazing, but the servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating. After a minor error in the kitchen, Ajit, the server for my table, gave a full refund for one of the dishes we had ordered. I'm very grateful to have had such an attentive server!

I've been to Santana Row many times, but this was my first time at Straits! Came for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised. I think I've always heard that Straits was not the greatest in Santana Row so I've never felt too compelled to try. Happy hour was great here! The vibes are nice, they play pretty loud music and it is well decorated inside. Service is a bit slow but if you come with people you enjoy spending time with, it doesn't feel like forever until they bring you the utensils and water like they said they would. I had the Pimms Cup, which was tasty. For food we tried the Korean Fried Chicken, Poh Pia Spring Rolls, Pork Belly Sliders, and Curried Cauliflower. All of it was yummy but our favorites were the spring rolls and cauliflower, we ordered those twice. For the fairly low review of Straits, I enjoyed my time and experience here and would come back for happy hour!

We really liked what we saw from the outside, so we decided to try Straits out. We sat at the bar and waited longer than we should have, as we watched the bar tenders talking amongst each other. We did finally flag down one of the guys and orders 2 cocktails. The drinks came in a timely manner and as ordered. Once again trying to order a small bite was challenging. Bartenders talking to each other while customers waited. Finally ordered the chicken lollipops. I regret it, as they were tough and not very good at all. These bartenders should take a customer service class. I do not recommend the Straight.

* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Straits Restaurant Santa Clara to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
