Sammie's Italian Austin Reviews
First time here on a friday night and it deserves a 10/10.
Our server Brendan was very attentive & such a nice guy. Made great suggestions & just made the experience great. The restaurant has really dark lighting which set the mood for the night, we had candles on the tables. Now food, we started with two salads, arugula and caesar. They were very different but both phenomenal. Very light but well seasoned. Arugula was more sour while caesar had a perfect amount of dressing and parmesan on each romaine leaf. For main, we got Orecchiette which had a kick. It was a perfect amount of spicy and very tomato-y which was delicious. It had whipped ricotta in the middle which kinda sealed the deal, creamy and rich flavors. We got a steak which was HUGE. it was served cut up with a whole garlic we were able to smear on top of the steak. It was cooked perfectly tender, flavors were great, no complaints! I will be back. It was a really good experience.
Food was amazing delicious.
Highly recommend this place and don't forget to make reservations as this place gets really packed. Tables are a bit smaller so order one or two dishes at the time and order more later after they clear out some items on the table. Great customer service too.
Sammie's was sooo good! I've been wanting to try this place
Sammie's was sooo good! I've been wanting to try this place out for so long. Luckily since it was the holiday break getting a 5:45pm reservation worked for us. If it didn't there literally are no reservations at dinner time until 6 weeks out. The food was delicious so I'm glad we didn't wait until then. I knew it was gonna be good when the mozzarella sticks came out. The marinara sauce is sooo good. The surprise of the night was the ricotta gnocchi! I didn't know what to expect and it blew me away on how good it was. I got the chicken parm which I knew it was gonna be good and it was. I can't wait to come back and try other things. Oh wait, I will have to wait since it's so hard to get a reservation at a decent time.
Amazing as always.
Musts are the Caesar salad alla Tommy and the chicken parmigiana. Chicken piccata did not make the cut this time, but it's okay! Martinis are always made to perfection!

Visited Sammie's for the first time and it was totally worth the hype. The appetizers were a perfect portion to share, very plentiful. The burrata caprese was fresh and delicious and the tomatoes were incredibly flavorful. We also ordered calamari to start and it was perfectly golden. We ordered the Mafaldine pasta as our main entree and it was the star of the show. The mushrooms were so savory and the choice of pasta noodle was perfection, this dish is like no mushroom pasta I've ever had before... it's a must try when visiting Sammie's! NY cheesecake for dessert was the perfect way to end the night and was delicious, complimented by tart raspberries and chocolate sauce. The romantic ambience made our date night extra special. Truly a noteworthy Austin restaurant!

If you're debating this place just go! Oh my goodness is this my new favorite spot? Certainly my fav Italian that I've found in Austin. When you walk in it feels like you've transported back to another time period. It's dark and romantic. The food portions are huge which is what I want when I'm getting Italian. Meatballs? Amazing. Bolognese? Wow. Mozzarella sticks? Must try. Tiramisu? Literally the best tiramisu I've ever had and I don't really care for tiramisu so that's saying a lot. Sommeliers are typically on the floor walking around to help with your wine choice. Small cons - we didn't have big problems with service they were actually on it but felt a little unauthentic? Waitress seemed to be almost annoyed with us for no good reason. One of the bathrooms was also pretty gross and smelt like urine.. the only reason this isn't a big problem for me is because I think it may have been a one off as the second bathroom was very clean. I'm truly surprised this place isn't rated higher in general.. 4.6 stars.
We decided to try Sammie's for my husbands birthday dinner.
I have to say that absolutely everything was wonderful. Dustin was our waiter, and he was incredible. From the food recommendations to the wine he helped us select. He was friendly and we felt very at home. We would come back here just for him honestly. On top of that the food was so good. Best Mozzarella sticks, best Caesar salad EVER, lasagna was insane and great spaghetti and meatballs. The wine Dustin picked was also great! It was loud and dark but hey it's austin and sixth street dining.. totally expected. We will be back
A must when you are in Austin! If you are lucky enough to
A must when you are in Austin! If you are lucky enough to snag a reservation that is. We have been to some of the best Italian in LA but they just don't compare. The pasta is heavenly, service Devine and ambiance takes you back to the 60s. Can't wait to be back!

My boyfriend and I went to Sammie's when visiting Austin, as I had heard great things and was dying to try it. It did not disappoint! It felt classy and fancy yet casual and comfortable at the same time. It's located right on 6th street and is walking distance from all the fun bars, so it's a great option before going out for the night. I will say it is a bit on the pricier side - but you're paying for the experience and the setting. It's probably more popular with tourists, but definitely worth a visit if you're in town. Food was absolutely delicious - I loved the bolognese! Our server was great and everything came out fast.
Food was good, nothing impressive to go out of the way.
The ambience does stand out and gives it a NYC establishment feel. Space was very limited between tables, to the point where parties next to us were bumping into one another. Had the veal dish as recommended by server, it's what people come back for.. I definitely won't be trying that next time. Not wanting to give up on the place after one try, but not a place I'd make my way to get a reservation for.
Disappointing all around
We had dinner here the night after Valentines and it was disappointing all the way around. We were seated outside under a loud speaker, service and the kitchen were slow, and the food was not good and it was overpriced. Perhaps the worst Italian we have experienced in Austin.
Great Italian in Austin
Delicious Italian food! We couldnβt get a table on short notice so we popped in for an early seat at the bar and it was well worth it. We started with the warm Burrata which I have never had before and it was shockingly delicious! Their home made bread with olives was amazing. Next we split the chopped salad and lasagna. The salad was a bit bitter to me with more purple cabbage than I care for but the chick peas, salami and mozzarella were great. The lasagna was very light , hot and authentic. The bartender also was able to make a 20th Century which most either havenβt a clue what that is or they donβt have the ingredients. The house Chianti was also very good. To finish the night my husband had an expresso martini which was over the top good. Only negative was we received all of our order at once which could be contributed to how we ordered it. It was definitely a ton of food for just two people
Sammies a pleasing place for a good dinner.
We were sat promptly after we valeted our car for $12. There is parking in the area. The room is a pleasant decor, sorta old world feel but very nice. Noise level is a bit high. Our server came over promptly with water, focaccia bread and crispy bread sticks. She asked if we wanted anything from the bar. There is a nice selection of wines by the bottle mostly from Italy. Cocktails were also poured but a little light on the pour. We enjoyed an appetizer of meatballs (3) that had a little kick in the sauce. Caesar salad was tasty also had a little kick as well in the crumble topping. Portion sizes are large as our server Gia told us. Chicken Parmesan and lasagna plentiful Cacio e Pepe was good and an average size portion. We were pleased with our meal. Deserts were good gelato and a cannoli. No tea, no decaf either.
Not worth it
I will say that sammie's looks to be a 5 star priced restaurant with 3 star service and crowded atmosphere. Will charge for every soda you order (coke, diet coke, or sprite were their only options). Served in a glass filled to the brim with ice and a straw that does not reach the bottom of the glass. Their food choices are overly priced for the amount of food ordered. Noodles are one of the most inexpensive foods to buy amongst any market. This place is way too overpriced and way too crowded to really be enjoyable. Trying to create an 5 star experience for the customer by having their staff work as a team bringing food out to each table in an attempt to look professional only backfired as our meals were delivered to the wrong individuals. I have to say that our server, Lindsey, really missed the mark in what would have made this experience just a tad bit better. If it wasn't enough to be over charged for some sphaghetti with meat sauce it would help if our server was more attentive and vocal about our options. Would I recommend this place for dinner more than once? Absolutely not
Rigatoni pasta was so yummmmm!!!!! Highly recommend the
Rigatoni pasta was so yummmmm!!!!! Highly recommend the Espresso Martini (very strong)
Poor choice
I was quite unimpressed with the experience here. We had dinner the night after Valentine's and honestly we both wished we had gone elsewhere. To start with they seated us outside at 5:45 PM with many tables open inside after insisting that our reservation was for outside. To add insult to injury they seated us under a loud speaker playing music we didn't care for and had to raise our voices to hear over. The food was at best average- I had Bolognese and it was very average and at $32 a poor buy. They could learn to make the dish at 68 Degree Kitchen. We don't recommend, there is better Italian at better prices all over Austin.
This was some of the best Italian I have ever had.
I can't wait to visit Austin again for more! Every dish was perfect! My daughter and I came in for a late lunch, we ordered a couple starters, Caesar salad, and two pastas, a couple desserts. I WAS BLOWN AWAY!! There was also live music playing, it was all n all the most magical place.
We popped in earlier this week.
No reservations, but were immediately seated at the bar for dinner. We absolutely loved every moment of our visit. The bar staff is top notch, and the food was so delicious! We had calamari then spaghetti & meatballs. Very extensive wine list; I had wine by the glass, but there are fabulous bottles to check out. My favorite part of the experience was the atmosphere. It's so dark & elegant, yet cozy. Very romantic vibe! Cant wait to go back!
Amazing food and service.
Lots of classic options and the waiters are very passionate about the menu. Intimate romantic vibe but with great music and loud conversations. Candle lit and beautifully decorated inside. Get the espresso martini, decently sized and very good. The cacio e pepe was delicious, same with the vodka sauce pasta. For a fresher dish check out the arugula salad, apple pear salad, or the classic caeser. Definitely would go again. Can't get pricy but fully worth the cost!
Fantastic spaghetti and meatballs Great place for a date
Fantastic spaghetti and meatballs Great place for a date night. I loved the atmosphere that was reminiscent of an old diner but not dingy and old.

When I went inside the host was a bit short but asked if I had a reservation. I did not and he stated he could seat me immediately at the bar which I was absolutely fine with. I sat down and was the only person so I started to peruse the menu. I decided on a drink and Brinley took my order. He was very friendly and attentive even though he was pouring left and right. Once my Limoncello Sidecar showed up in front of me I had made my lunch choices. The Alla Tommy part had me intrigued. I also got the Malfadine with Funghi and Tartufo, which is basically mushrooms and truffles. While I was waiting for the food fresh bread appeared and it was focaccia. The focaccia was warm with a hint of salt and rosemary. It wasn't over done and the percent amount of flavor. It was buttery and warm and just delightful really. Soon my Caesar Salad Alla Tommy was placed and boy was I surprised. It was a large mound of romaine hearts(the best part of a head of lettuce) with tons of cheese shaved top and some lemon zest. The crowning jewel as you will was layered on the inside. It was a mix of an oil with Calabrian chilis and crunchy bread crumbs of focaccia mixed it. It was a bit spicy but cooled down with that creamy Caesar dressing. I seriously could not eat the salad fast enough. It was so good and I wanted more and I didn't want it to end. I finished the salad my beautiful pasta was not far behind. It was steaming hot and the aroma was fragrant and inviting. The sauce was a lighter white sauce full of mushroom flavor. Now you know mushrooms can be a bit overbearing or "dirty" tasting. This absolutely was not the case. The mushrooms were meaty and so juicy. The pasta was cooked perfectly and it was just the right portion. I didn't feel heavy when I was done eating. We continued our conversation about food and local restaurants as he continued to pour drinks. This was honestly just perfect. I was in town for eating and he had some excellent suggestions and reaffirmed some places I had been contemplating. I was so thankful that he took the time for me. I passed on the dessert and was shortly on my way to my next destination full of ideas on food. The story doesn't end there though....all day all I could think about was the Caesar Salad. I had to live in the top 3 of my lifetime and if you remember I order it any time it's on the menu. I'd venture to say it's number 1 realistically. I had another snack and continued to think about the salad. At 10pm that night when I was back at the hotel I decided that I wanted to order the salad to go and grab a slice while I was out and about. I ordered online for pick up and headed down to my rental. I went to leave and the dash lights lit up with all types of warnings and I had no power steering. I had to wait on a tow truck and had no way to pick up my salad I was desperately craving. I called the restaurant to let them know I wouldn't be able to pick up the order. She apologized for my troubles and we hung up. About an hour later the order was voided and I was not charged for the salad. Talk about extremely nice. I did not ask them to do that but they felt bad for my troubles. I was thankful and continued to think about that missed salad. But guess what the story continues....I was able to go get another rental car and in my travels that next day I was close to Sammie's as they opened for dinner. I decided to stop in and order a Caesar salad to go. When I went into the restaurant and spoke to the host I told him the situation. I explained to him I had dined Friday and had such an awesome experience at the bar with Brinley and how I had placed the to go order last night and was unable to pick up. I wanted to support them and clearly enjoy another salad. He remembered the ordered because he told me that I requested cracked black pepper on the online order. He let me now he would get a salad right away. All of a sudden Brinley came around the bar to the seating area with a bag that contained my salad. He was smiling and said, "hey I heard about all your troubles and we are sorry you didn't get your sals last night but here's one for today and it's on us!" I absolutely was floored. I told him that was not the least bit necessary. I wanted to pay for it but he was having no part of that conversation. I did tell him that I was planning to visit a place he suggested that night for a late dinner. He wished me happy travels and shook my hand. I was blown away at the fact that a restaurant cared that much about a single guest. It literally goes to show you that something so small can make such an impact on someone. I took that salad and man did I enjoy it. It just goes to show you that no matter who you are or what happens there are still people in the world that care. Thank you Sammie's for making my Austin trip out of this world. I cannot wait to come back. In the mean time I will be trying to replicate that Calabrian chili crunch at home.
Loved the atmosphere of the place.
Very New York old Italian vibes. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and welcoming. He helped us order the perfect wines to complement our meals. We got the lasagna, which was large enough for really all three of us, the cacio e pepe pasta, and vodka pasta. They were all delicious! Unfortunately, I got food poisoning that evening from the cacio e pepe... but the fact that I would still go back says something about how yummy the food was! I would probably get the vodka pasta the next time. The tiramisu was alright but the waiter brought us a brown butter gelato on the house which was divine!

For starters, I will say the ambiance of the restaurant was very intimate and alluring, I loved every bit of it. I wish I would have taken photos of my food but it looked so divine I didn't get the chance too. We started off with Sammie's meatballs and I ordered the Gnocchi di Nonna Rita, which hands down was some of the best gnocchi I've had in quite some time. Our waiter was very attentive and consistently came around making sure our drinks were filled and our table was precisely clean. I definitely would recommend to anyone that hasn't tried Sammie's Italian just yet. P.S I did snag a photo of the tiramisu which was delectable to say the least.

This place is great! Came here with my friends for a girls night out and Dustin took great care of us! It's pricey, but the portions/ quality is 100% worth it. I love the music they place as well, a total vibe. Perfect for a special occasion or date night. I highly recommend! Best Espresso Martini in town :)

One of the very few Italian places that has captured my heart. Soulful food prepared by my dear friend Ricardo, who's the Executive Sous Chef. I have been to Sammie's twice and both times, I was pleasantly welcomed and ushered to my table. Servers were dressed professionally and elaborated on the dishes, which is a rare find in restaurants these days. The Mafaldine with Funghi & Tartufo was so deliciously done, generous portion of truffles greeted the dish. Another must have is Orecchiette with arbiatta sauce. I mean the pasta was cooked to perfection!!! 10/10 on both dishes. The warmth and the coziness of the restaurant was incredible. Definitely a spot for a date night or celebratory event. MML Group surely knows how to put up a good treat.
Good food but pricey
I had a good night although itβs very noisy, if your looking for a quiet relaxing atmosphere this is not the place to go, also the food was ok, We shared Caesar salad between 5 and I had the brown butter knocci, tasted nice, Iβd say it was a good experience to eat here but itβs too expensive for my budget, Iβm still shocked at the price of my meal including a dirty martini. Iβd definitely recommend the food and if your a high earner then this is the place to go.
Old School Italian Diner in Austin
First time coming here and we will be back. Make sure to make reservations; you can come without reservations but expect a wait. The interior is something has the "old school" feel to it; old photos cover the walls. Nice music playing (a bit loud). They brought out fresh bread and bread sticks. We had to repeatedly request olive oil and balsamic vinegar but honestly, you don't need them. The bread has a really nice hint of rosemary and they taste freshly baked. We had the Caesar salad and these are quite good. Oddly no croutons or parmesan cheese. It's a delicious salad but just missing the typical accoutrements. We also shared an order of Calamari and it's quite good. For our main entrees, we had Cacio e Pepe, Rigatoni Bolognese and Lasagna. I tried the Cacio e Pepe and I know that is what I'm having the next time we visit here. It's an amazing pasta dish. The Rigatoni was also quite good. For the lasagna, it is good, but honestly, a bit heavy. They do not scrimp on the cheese or meat, but it was heavier on the mozzarella cheese and too little of ricotta (if there was any). The lasagna portion they serve is easily enough for four people, so if you are with a group and want to share a meal, just order one lasagna. We had a variety of drinks and they were mostly disappointing. I do realize it's an Italian restaurant but I would still think they could serve just about any drink. I ordered a cocktail and when it was brought out, I was told "this is our version" and it was bad enough I had to send it back. The server was nice and told me that wasn't a problem. Ended up having a dirty martini with olives. To start off... the olives! I never thought I would complain about olives in a drink but these were not cocktail olives. And the martini was pretty bad and ended up not finishing. One in our party wanted wine and the server was not at all knowledgeable about the wine list. In fact, neither were the bartenders. Their cocktail/wine list is 26 pages and we just didn't have time to review it all. The glass of wine brought out was red and our friend specifically said she wanted something white. I went to the bar and the bartender couldn't give a recommendation. What's the point of this extensive wine list if your employees don't know much about it. I've worked as a server and had to memorize the entire bar menu. We ordered desert and we were going to take it home; My friends had Tiramisu and they said it was the best they have ever had. I had the NY Cheesecake and it was quite good but I don't believe they make it. The downside of our experience was the hostess. Some hostesses seem to feel they wield control and abuse that... as did this person. We did not have reservations and simply just wanted to put our name on a list for anything whether it was outside or at the bar if we couldn't get a table. It was 8pm and were being told 9:30 - 10pm. Although there were three empty tables outside and there were spaces available at the bar, the hostess was being quite obstinate. After awhile, it seemed as if she wouldn't even take our names but ultimately she did take our name and number. After an hour of waiting, we went back inside to see where we were on the list. It was now 9pm and there were plenty of open tables and she sat us right away. The bigger question is how long had those tables been open? I'm 100% sure if we never came back... they never would have actually called us. Extremely poor service by the hostess. I've been to small diners and they will text you updates on your spot on the list. So, if you put your name down on the waitlist, check back frequently because it's likely they will never contact you. Hostesses seem to have a power trip here.
good stuff
pretty good italian joint. portions are good size. dishes were straight forward. service was good. cocktails did the job.
Sammie's Italian would not make it in Brooklyn
This was our first visit post COVID. The food is B+, service is C (the wait staff does not greet customers, smile, or say thank you. It's as though they all wished they were elsewhere). It took nearly 40 minutes to get our main dishes. The noise level is F (like 42d street subway at rush hour). We won't return. That said, the place is wildly popular and packed every night. Why??
5/5 for the food- the mozzarella sticks are the best I've
5/5 for the food- the mozzarella sticks are the best I've ever had. My husband didn't want to order them because he said he's never had a good mozzarella stick before and thinks he doesn't like them. He gobbled these down and wanted more! We've tried a few pastas and they were all great. The eggplant Parmesan was super tasty- their red sauce is spot-on real deal Italian and I loved it!3.5/5 for service as we've had mixed experiences here. The first time we arrived 5 minutes prior to 5pm opening and we're told there are no tables available so we are at the bar. The bartender was super gruff and seemed miserable to be there. He kept trying to take away our plates while we were still actively eating (like we're actively chewing and there more left on the plate). He then ignored us and the other patrons the rest of the night. We went another time and got a table which was nice, but noticed the waitstaff was still weird about trying to clear plates while we are still eating. Service was better at the table than the bar.Ambiance- 3/5. The lighting and tables are all very nice, but even for an early 5pm dinner the place is incredibly loud- I was seated across from my husband and we had a hard time hearing each other over the din of other diners. The noise level is just way too high here.Food was fantastic, bar service left a lot to be desired and ambiance is nice but could be improved.

Friends have been telling us to come here and we finally broke down and did for a special occasion. We have such a hard time justifying crazy prices for Italian food but this place did not disappoint! Caesar salad - omg yum. Everything is large enough to share. The mushroom truffle pasta was perfect. Wish they had more affordable wine options - red started around $68 for a Chianti so expect to spend some dough. But we would definitely come back for a special occasion! Our waitress was incredibly attentive and a sommelier- wonderful ambiance for a date night... go!
Sammies strikes again.
THE BEST Caesar salad in the city. This time we got:- calamari- so full, so crisp, so delicious- Caesar salad - always YES- spaghetti Al limone - shockingly my fav dish I've had in all my visits- chocolate cake - you can't go wrong here Service is impeccable even at the bar.If I got proposed here, I wouldn't mind ;)
Service was poor as staff was very short with customers.
Pork chop was dry, but meatballs were good. Atmosphere is nice and it's good for people watching, but we were disappointed in the food and staff.
Ehhh the prices at OUTRAGEOUS and portions are small.
Overall the food was ok not great. I would not return here.

One of my fav restaurants in town! Have tried every one of their plates and Cant go wrong with the penne a la vodka, it is SO delicious! Reservations can be tricky so book a bit in advance.
A reason to return to Austin!
Seriously, this is a great reason to go to Austin, just get your reservation now, because there is never an empty seat in this old-school yet modern eatery. From their mixologists to their sommelier, they know their drinks. The chef's dishes are flavorful, bright and plentiful....even the simple dishes are packed with freshness and are satisfying. The atmosphere is just, well, makes you feel like you're in NYC not Texas and that maybe, just maybe you'll get a glimpse of Sammy Davis or Frank Sinatra. Really, check it out whether it's 2p on a Friday afternoon or time for a late dinner, you won't be dissapointed.
Socks were knocked off.
INCREDIBLE food. Parking is kinda touch and go with the valet and it's really crowded inside & especially around host stand but that's alright. Food absolutely makes up for it. Had the meatballs, mozz sticks, wine, vodka pasta, and chicken piccata and I can't stop thinking about that chicken. Incredible. Omg. Will be back soon cuz this place is doing it right!
Great Italian, authentic gravy/sauce on the pasta and the
Great Italian, authentic gravy/sauce on the pasta and the meatballls were a pleasant surprise with Ricotta on top and basil. Calamari was just the right crispy. Chopped salad was OK a little too much red cabbage for my taste. My husband had the veal which was bone in and very good. Only bad was the music while out on the patio, heavy dance music with language just didn't seem right for this quaint Italian place. Patio was lovely to people watch though. Our waiter was very attentive.
5 stars.
Everything was great.Service was great. Our waiter, Brayden was spread a little thin but still very attentive. He did a nice job and made us feel like VIPs. I was really impressed. We split a Caesar which was bright, tangy, and a bit spicy. Definitely interesting and generously covered in fresh grated Parmesan. The table bread was a fluffy and flavorful focaccia. Very solid. Chicken Parmesan was a generous portion with a really robust red sauce. Very flavorful. Same with the eggplant Parmesan. Definitely a cut above. Most places slice it too thick and it's inedible. Sammie's has found a happy medium. Calamari breading was light and flaky, and well seasoned. Add the lemon cheek over it and into the sauce and it was stellar. Beats anything else I've had. Meatballs were also very flavorful. They were a touch more firm than I'm used to but against the pasta it turned out to be a great combo.Prices on the entrees look a little steep when you're looking at the menu (chicken parm was $42) but the portions are huge. I took most of it home and will probably get 2 more meals out of it. I can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu.My only complaint was the atmosphere is extremely loud, and the music makes you feel like you're in an Italian-restaurant-themed nightclub. I might be in the minority here, so chalk that up to personal preference. Just be warned that it's a loud joints. That was tough to adjust to but after 10 it settled down a bit and got into "vibrant restaurant" levels, which were more tolerable. The patio seating probably solves that issue.
Michael, our server was great.
Ambiance was nice, the perfect weather for dining Al fresco. The funghi tartufo pasta (not pictured) was my favorite. The bolognese wasn't bad but not as delightful as the aforementioned. Caesar salad was a must and cheesecake was great because it wasn't overly sweet. Loved the whole olives in the focaccia, couldn't get enough!
NYC Italian in Austin!
I'm a former NYer and local Austinite. I've now been to Sammie's at least 6 times and while it took them a while to get it right, I think they've finally done it! It's got a great "old school" feel and atmosphere and the food gets better every time I've been there. It's loud and it's a scene but I think that makes it all the more fun.
The best meal Iβve eaten in years!
Amazing! My friend and I went on a Friday at 6;45 and was told we would be seated at 9pm in the bar. Yikes! The next day we arrived at 4,30. Sammies opened at 5pm. We were seated in the bar right away. This was great, the bartenders were very entertaining and the drinks were great. The food was outstanding! Very authentic Italian cuisine! The bread was sooo good! The Beet Salad was wonderful. I loved every bite of the Veal Picata. But the Tiramisu was the best Iβve ever eaten! The sauce poured over the dessert made it a unique version of this classic! Canβt wait to visit Austin again and return to Sammieβs!
High-talian as an old friend called it
Ok another place and I don't make reservations. Its fun to walk in and see how they accommodate you. They were accommodating and in a few minutes, I was seated at the bar. Others on this Sixth street epicurean place were having a good time. It's dark might need a flashlight to read the menu. They had outside patio seating in front. Note parking is on the street and check the meters for times. The first thing I ordered was an Old Forester (Old Fashion) "Sammies Selection". That the bartender made right in front of me, a first. They used what looked like two different bitters. It was a good drink. Onward to Spaghetti and Meatballs. Three meatballs and a homemade sauce with a peppery finish it was good. Not a hang-off-the-plate spaghetti but a bowl of spaghetti. It was served quickly as were other meals nearby. I recommend reservations as this place has always been packed every time I passed by. Probably would have ordered a nice Chianti next time. They have a menu online and it is pricy.

* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* DistinguishedTree58, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* DistinguishedTree58 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to DistinguishedTree58 for any questions Peter may have as DistinguishedTree58 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* DistinguishedTree58 now uses their connections at Sammie's Italian Austin to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If DistinguishedTree58 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, DistinguishedTree58 receives the $200 reward which is credited to DistinguishedTree58's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Sammie's Italian Austin!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
