LouLou Paris Reviews
Excellent
I visited with my son for my 60th birthday, which was recommended by a friend. The service was very good, the food was delicious. We had the peach and burrata salad, courgette flowers and truffle tagliatelle. The flavours were sublime and we were both disappointed. We finished with the lemon citron tart. We sat outside on the terrace and the weather was perfect. Totally a wonderful experience on a very special occasion. Thank you
Outside Seating Brings You Back
Overpriced, average Italian fare. Service can be a bit condescending. What brings you back is hoping the weather is good enough for outside seating in the Tuileries overlooking the gardens with a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
The outdoor setting is beautiful, which is the main reason
The outdoor setting is beautiful, which is the main reason for the restaurants appeal. As expected, it's full of tourists sitting very close to one another. The food is very basic, Italian food. It's neither good nor bad. The wine mark-up is extremely high. So overall, it's not worth a repeat visit. You could argue, it's not worth an initial visit.
Overpriced and Underwhelming – A Disappointing Lunch at Loulou
I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Loulou-Paris was disappointing enough that I feel it deserves to be shared—especially given the restaurant’s exclusive reputation and prime location overlooking the Louvre. My husband and I spent €350 for lunch, and what we received was one of the poorest dining experiences we’ve ever had. We ordered the “special of the day,” which our server quoted as €54. Only when the bill arrived did we discover the dish was actually nearly four times that price. Had we known, we would never have chosen it for a light lunch. The special was a pasta with langostino (or “little lobster”). While the langostino itself was cooked properly, there were only a few small pieces. The pasta, however, had an overpowering, unpleasant seafood odor—almost as if it had been boiled with langostino shells. To make matters worse, our server first presented a beautiful platter with a whole langostino, but when our plates arrived, we were served only a fraction of it alongside a mound of pasta. This left us with the distinct impression that the platter was merely for show, not for us. Service was equally disappointing. Our server never once checked on us, so we ended up refilling our own sparkling and still water as well as our wine. At no point did anyone ask how we were enjoying the meal—even though both plates were left largely untouched. As frequent diners and food lovers, we can appreciate great food at any price point. Unfortunately, this meal was neither well-prepared nor well-served, and the experience felt more like a tourist trap than a fine dining establishment. To be fair, we had many wonderful dining experiences in Paris—Em Sherif Café, Chez Ly, Kinugawa, and even the casual Pizzamore were all excellent. These meals highlighted just how overpriced and underwhelming Loulou was by comparison.
From all of the foodie places my friend and I visited while
From all of the foodie places my friend and I visited while spending a week in Paris, Lou Lou was one of our top restaurants for ambiance and food. They have an outdoor seating area right on the grass, so it's a perfect place for sunset. It is across the way from The Louvre, and you have a great view of the Eiffel Tower (though small, but still nice) and Olympic Cauldron. It's a great area to walk around either before or after your meal. Location, garden ambiance, and decor are 10/10. Let's get to the amazing food! We had the truffle pizza, which is hands down probably the best truffle pizza I've ever had. We also had the vodka pasta, and that too was amazing. Though it was very creamy and cheesy, it was the perfect amount. Food was a solid 10/10.
Very expensive, mediocre food.
Really not worth it. Try to get a little bit away and go into a real French restaurant.
Horrible experience ever in my life
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. From the start, the reception was unprofessional – they met us outside in the roadway instead of properly welcoming us inside. We then waited for two hours before any food was served. When the food finally arrived, it was shocking. The lamb chops we ordered were basically eaten already – we were served only bones. The order was incorrect, and the quality was unacceptable. Even the waiter seemed surprised when he saw the food, yet he did not apologize. The worst part was the manager’s attitude. Instead of apologizing or trying to make things right, he simply said “I agree with you” and stared at us without any effort to resolve the issue. No professionalism, no respect, and no responsibility. This was a horrible dining experience from start to finish. Bad service, bad food, bad treatment. I absolutely do not recommend anyone to visit this restaurant.
Good lunch spot with beautiful view!
Beautiful location! We had lunch in a garden with views of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The food was very good. We had salads and pastas. It is on the expensive side however the food and views were worth it.
From Promising Start to Total Disaster.
To Tonight, I experienced one of the worst dinners I’ve ever had at your restaurant. The evening began well with quick appetizers, but then we waited over an hour for our main courses. When they finally arrived, the lamb looked and tasted like it was scraped from someone else’s plate, and the other two dishes were completely wrong — even your waiter admitted they weren’t what we ordered. This wasn’t a simple mistake — it was a total breakdown in service, food quality, and basic professionalism. For a restaurant that presents itself as high-end, tonight was nothing short of disgraceful. I left feeling insulted, disappointed, and shocked at the lack of standards.
If you value kindness, flexibility, or basic humanity do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
We had one of the most disappointing and heartless experiences at this restaurant. We were visiting Paris for the first time and had booked a table, but due to circumstances beyond our control including my pregnancy and closed roads that made walking difficult we arrived late. We tried calling multiple times to inform them but got no answer. When we finally arrived, they refused to seat us. Even after we explained the situation, showed our call log, and shared that I was pregnant, they showed **zero empathy**. No understanding. No compassion. Just a cold, dismissive attitude. And to make things worse, they charged us €100 as a no-show fee. For nothing. Not a meal. Not a seat. Not a drop of water. It’s one thing to have policies. It’s another to treat people like they don’t matter. We left shocked and deeply disappointed. If you value kindness, flexibility, or basic humanity do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
Appalling engagement with this establishment.
They have zero regard for customers. The long and they short of it is that we were looking to expand our reservation to include some additional guests. They do not respond to email, do not answer phones, and nor engaged with our hotel concierge. We we were left without the ability to add guests. To make matters worse, when we arrived for our reservation, they told us it was cancelled. My sweet daughter (who was celebrating her birthday) had to bear witness to their abhorrent behavior. Despite the incredibly rude attitude by the older brunette manager, she confirmed they would not charge us a cancellation fee. But she absolutely lied. At the moment, I have a $660 charge on my credit card that I have to dispute and waste my time on this terrible venue. I can't believe this is even happening with a restaurant that's supposed to have a reasonable reputation! Are so many better restaurants in Paris, don't waste your time and energy!
Went to lou lou for dinner Beautiful place but not safe
Went to lou lou for dinner Beautiful place but not safe for gluten allergy/celiac. I spoke to the manager and waiter extensively about my allergy and they assured me no cross contamination. My pasta came and 3/4 way through I found a non penne noodle (a spaghetti noodle that wasn't gf). When I told them they blamed me. Would not recommend. They were extremely rude. https://www.loulou-paris.com
We booked a reservation at LouLou after I read reviews
We booked a reservation at LouLou after I read reviews about the spectacular view and atmosphere. There was definitely no spectacular view or atmosphere. There are two sides for the outdoor seating- one has a great view, the other is blocked from everything. We were seated on the side with the blocked view in a table so tight that the waiter had to move the table next to me so I could squeeze in (and I'm a tiny person to begin with). Someone else left a review here saying that you only get on the good side if you have Botox and high end clothing... I laughed when I read that, but that person is completely right. We watched groups of people approach the hostess and could basically guess which side they would be seated in based on their appearance. I want to point this out because after we were disappointed by the lack of view, we watched many others look totally disappointed as they were seated on the bad side. Most asked if they could be moved and the hostess would just say "no, sorry" with no explanation or any sympathy in her voice. So I'm hoping this review can save others from disappointment. The food was fine. Nothing spectacular, but decent enough. It can be expensive depending on what you order, but we got pasta dishes and actually found them pretty comparable in price to other restaurants we went to in the area. But we really only went for the view, and I ended up crammed in the back with a view of a tree and the large bar set up in the center (which is the main reason why one side has no view whatsoever), so definitely do NOT book if you just want the view/atmosphere. Oh and they definitely rushed us. The hostess sat us down and our waiter came over immediately to ask what we wanted to drink, and then seemed annoyed when we said we didn't know yet. We made sure to pace out our dinner, but if we didn't, they would have given us drinks, dinner, and dessert all in one hour. Not even sure why, as half the place was empty. All in all, not worth it. I would suggest dining somewhere else and just walking to the park at the louvre to get the spectacular view (the view is actually better right outside of LouLou seating anyway- there were tons of people just sitting on the grass).
We celebrated our friend's birthday here.
It was awesome we had window seating with Eiffel tower view. Service was great, food was delicious! I would definitely come back here when I visit Paris again
Had a decent lunch at Loulou during my visit to Paris.
It's a beautiful atmosphere, although we were seated inside because of the weather. The pasta was okay. I understand it's not Italy, but I had slightly higher hopes. The staff was kind and this is certainly a buzzing spot. The cocktails weren't our fav.

Came today, the outside hostess is horrible .
.. and so ugly...both personality and looks! She should be fired. And the food is terrible and overpriced. Do not recommend coming here. Yes the atmosphere is appealing but better to eat nearby than deal with this ugly, snobby hostess, seriously how is she the face of your restaurant?
The Italian place to eat at while in France!
What a place to go to! The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the place is wonderful. What a treat really it’s a trendy but classic place at the same time. The waiter was incredibly sweet and cheeky with the kids he made our dinning experience fantastic! He even left the restaurant with us to show us directions to the taxi station! Brilliant place will for sure recommend anyone in France to go have a meal there. Only thing is they open the bookings only 2 weeks in advance and they are always fully booked so book as early as you can.
Pretty but horrible experience.
Although the restaurant does have great reviews unfortunately the staff is incredibly rude and r a c i s t. We were shouted at from the front of house staff and refused a seat. We were told there are no walk ins however 2 mins later they let a group of 8 walk in with no reservation. Apparently the staff is able to let people in at their discretion. The manager had to intervene due to the rudeness of staff however they are all very dismissive. If you dont have w h i t e privilege unfortunately you wont be accepted at this restaurant.
Big disappointment
Honestly, quite disappointed after visit this time. First time I visited Loulou in winter this year and it was amazing, so I was really looking forward to come back. This week we came for the first sitting and they sit us on the first floor just next to the big loud table when the rest of the restaurant was still empty. The noise and ambience was not encouraging for the long meal at all. The food was very good, quality of the food was outstanding, however the service could be way better. I ordered truffle pasta and the truffle was already on the plate when usually in decent restaurants it is grated on the spot. After main course the server decided that there is no need to clean bread crumbs, so we were eating dessert on the table covered with crumbs. I was thinking it’s a true restaurant, however the service made me feel like I am in a mediocre brasserie. Loulou used to be a great place, but unfortunately not anymore
Snooty lady receptionist
The servers for the table were excellent but please ask the lady at the reception desk to not be so snooty - we pay a lot of money to be there and would appreciate to be welcomed in.
From start to finish, lunch at Loulou was a disaster.
When we originally sat down, it was raining. And even though the place was practically empty, they chose a table that wasn't entirely covered and wouldn't allow us to move, so we ended up getting wet. Then, it took our waiter about 15 minutes to come over to us; the rest of the service between ordering and receiving food was equally slow. On top of that, the prices are insane considering the quality of food. The spaghetti sauce my friend had on her pasta dish looked like it came out of a can with the amount of oil in it. I also have to mention the birds which were pooping on chairs and eating food on plates before and after it was served. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the birds had taken some from my plate before it was given to me. The kicker at the end was being forced to give a tip, there was no option not to. Do yourself a favor and find another spot to eat further away from the Louvre!
Horrible hostesses
The food is very good but the hostesses up from are absolutely awful humans. They tried to give us the worst table they had (dark corner table) claiming every other table was reserved or unavailable, while seating other two tops at then. Would not return because of the terrible hostesses. Also they claim the service is not included unlike everywhere else in France.

I had an incredible brunch for my bachelorette party with 11 friends, and it was a 10/10 experience all around! The service was fantastic, and I highly recommend our waiter, Long - he was amazing!
The best experience ever!
I had the most amazing experience!
must go!!!!
EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO HERE (for lunch). The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the menu was absolutely so delicious. I highly recommend the tuna carpaccio and the green pizza (I forget what it's called). It was all excellent. The dessert was great too. The restaurant has beautiful windows overlooking a gorgeous lawn. 100% recommend!!!!
This restaurant is absolutely adorable inside and out.
I was hoping to sit outside but they seated us inside which was also fine but on a sunny day sit outside! we got the vodka pasta, the pesto pasta and the cucumber feta olive salad and all was SO good. It's well worth making a reservation for I'm still thinking about days later.
"Had an amazing lunch today, but was a bit disappointed
"Had an amazing lunch today, but was a bit disappointed that we weren't seated outside like we thought we would be. They said the outside doesn't open until June. It doesn't state that on the website, so it's a bit misleading. Overall though the inside was really nice, service was amazing and food was delicious. It's a must go to if you're visiting Paris."
OK
The restaurant is beautiful. The staff seemed harried but the service was ok My husband had the loup (sea bass) and it was excellent. I had the octopus risotto and the octopus was so tough I had to ask for a steak knife and still could not cut or eat the two pieces on top the “risotto”, which I’m not sure it was risotto it was so dried out. It was like the rice you get at the bottom of a good paella dish, a little crunchy. It was like it had been left u see a warmer for 30 minutes. Anyway, I thought this was the way octopus was supposed to taste - and my husband said maybe it was supposed to be more of a paella then risotto (list in translation) until I had a wonderful octopus dish at a nearby bistro (Volney) later and it was tender and wonderful. Price to value was high for the quality of my meal. My husband’s meal was great.
Delicious dinner with the best vibe
The food was delicious and vibe was so good!!! Loved our dinner here. Definitely recommend the Vodka Pasta and Saint-Germain Spritz!
Just 'okay'.
We booked LouLou for a birthday celebration for my sister and we're disappointed. When we arrived the front-of-house staff were rude and looked as though we were inconveniencing them, one member of the team in particular. A second host, much friendlier than the team member that met us at the door, the first showed us to our table, upstairs with a great view of the Eiffel Tower. The waiters were very helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable about allergens making me feel comfortable about the gluten-free and celiac-friendly options. I was pleased to know that the salads, lots of the starters and that all of the pasta dishes could be made with GF pasta. Service was really slow and the restaurant wasn't full so I was surprised. The food was, ok. Starters were nice but nothing special and I've had much better Italian food elsewhere. For the price, I had expected this to be great but the pasta was CRUNCHY and hard (not Al Dente, just not cooked) and we had to send it back. When we left I received a second notification on my banking app, I had been charged my full deposit as well as our bill. Luckily I was just outside and turned back to ask the team about this, the same host was at the front, looked us up and down, and said 'whoops mistake' with no apology. I was told that this would be refunded and that i'd receive an email to confirm this and I am still waiting for this.
Nice food but far too expensive
Nice food but far too expensive. We had 2 main courses, 2 glasses of wine and 2 coffe. It cost 146 Euro, i.e. 73 Euro per person. Close to Musée des Arts Decoratifs
We won’t be returning
The service and food were both poor. We were waiting to be served and most of the time had to call someone over to order. The food was lukewarm and the portion sizes were too small. Overall, we thought it was overpriced and poor. We wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.
We had a great experience here.
The restaurant is nice and cozy. The Truffle Pizza was Fantastic. Best white sauce pizza I've ever had. But it comes at the steep price of €50! But honestly.. when in... Paris.. I suppose it's not the time to pinch Pennies. The wine we had was great. The service was great and we had a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. Oh! The Pesto Pasta was fantastic. And the Pasta with Vodka was Sauce was nice and spicy. Definitely recommend coming here!!
Please don't fall for this trap! This restaurant is only
Please don't fall for this trap! This restaurant is only nice in the sense of convenience to the Lourve. I can see the potential in the cute location and graphics, but they know exactly what they are doing in terms of manipulation. My boyfriend and I made a reservation over a week ago to come after our Lourve visit. We were seated by the hot window literally squished next to two other ladies. We didn't want to gorge, so we told our waiter that we would like to order a pizza to the share (the truffle pizza, which already is a pricier food option). He stopped us right there and said every guest has to order an entree. We tacked on a pesto pasta on top of our specialty cocktails. We truly knew it would be impossible to finish two whole dishes, so we asked for a takeaway--which we understand isn't ideal in Europe because they don't like when there's an abundance of your meal left. But what else are you going to do when you have 2 huge entrees that you're paying for and sharing on top of drinks and even dessert? When we asked for the check and a takeaway box, our waiter took away our food THEN brought back our pizza without the pasta. When he came back, he asked if it were okay that he threw away our pasta. First of all, LOL. Second of all, I asked him why was that necessary when he did not mention that when he left with our plates AND forced us to order another plate. He tried to tell me "oh, it's fresh pasta, and it doesn't stay good over time, etc." --then why serve something that can't last an extra hour...not to forget, he only came by 3-4 times total. Trés mal. Pas bien. Il est épouvantable. He, then, insisted that we add tip because "gratuity isn't included". Beware if Ludovic is serving you near the window. He doesn't mean well.
Ok I'm giving it a 4 but it could be a 3.
Wife read about this spot and off we went. Weird entrance through the museum but there's another nicer way in. Free fall all when the doors open and we were second in line so I thought this was going to be easy. 5 or 6 table were seated before us because the other entrance is closer to the hostess desk. Get our table and waited........ for the waiter. He took our drinks and then took an order from the table next to us who sat a few minutes after us. They ate and left 30 minutes before we did. Dinner was over 2 hours. I'm assuming it's from the kitchen getting slammed by the instant opening. I ordered some mezcal special cocktail and my wife ordered a special margarita Both were delicious. Mine was excellent. We ordered the sea bass carpaccio and while we were waiting the waiter offered us the Vitello Tonnato that was a wrong order. Was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. (Plus 1 for the waiter.)The sea bass came 20 minutes later (minus 1) and was good not as good as the veal. Mains were Fettuccini Alfredo with Truffles. Delicious. Wife had the Veal Piccata came with creamy mashed potatoes. Both delicious and recommend. So the problem was we waited 30 minutes to get the check ( minus 1) Floor manager was a little aggressive clearing our table and should smile a little. So the food was great and the atmosphere was nice, staff was meh. Oh and the crowd was all over the place , people in sweats and some decked out and some good people watching.
Great
From st tropez to paris, loulous is an iconic place for great food and atmosphere.
While visiting our daughter in Paris, who has lived there 6
While visiting our daughter in Paris, who has lived there 6 years. We were treated so poorly, she booked out a week in advance. We arrived and were seated to the left of the entrance. In the sun. We asked to be seated on the right. We were told two different things. Our regular customers are seated on the right, which does have the better view and then, oh you didn't book soon enough. Basically, if you don't have copious amounts of botox, or you aren't wearing high end clothing you won't be seated to the right. We left, we have never been treated so poorly in france. I guess we all need that one rude france experience. Went off and had the best lunch somewhere else at Racines. Don't bother with this place.
Food was very good.
Waiter was a douche. The food came out rapid fire causing three courses to go cold, he ran up the bill by giving us a market price piece of fish that could have served a family of 6 for a table of 2. He was inattentive and arrogant. There are better places to go where you will not be treated like you are a tourist and made to feel like one.
Loulou Paris was so good!!
Everything looked so good we had a hard time choosing! We ended up taking four different plates and sharing everything and I'm so glad we did because the food is amazing!

Food was amazing, service was incredible and view & ambiance were top notch! We had the zucchini flower, pistachio pasta, risotto and a delicious puff pastry desert. Everything was fantastic!
Very delicious food and such a nice atmosphere.
Staff was pleasant considering my party and I are American. The bathrooms were very clean and the attendant was very kind. Would most definitely come back again.

We had an amazing dinner with a stunning view! Our green bean salad, ceviche and the whole fish were divine. The service was impeccable!
Great for kids, great for celiac
We were so grateful to find this restaurant! The whole menu is very gluten-friendly and the staff knows all about celiac, which was such a relief, as my 10-year-old has celiac. They have a kids' menu that felt comfortable to my 5- and 8-year-old loved after many meals of new foods they hadn't seen before. It was relaxing and the staff was very kind.
Went 2 times in 4 days. Great Food
The food and ambiance at LouLou is fantastic. Great selection of wine compliments the food very well. Desserts are delicious too. Happy to have been.
Absolutely perfect
Atmosphere 5+ / cool vibe but private Vibe 5+ / smart elegant with good music Location 5 / central and convenient Food 5+++ / really good Italian food, high quality, perfectly cooked Well done!
Amazing food and gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower! Must
Amazing food and gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower! Must get reservations or risk waiting. The truffle pasta and pizza is a must try!!
Nothing special
I visited with my wife for dinner. The location is nice and the ambience is ok if not a bit boring. The food was hit and miss, some nice (not great) and some not so nice. Service was hit and miss too. Some were really helpful and others like they were really bored. If you have a few days in Paris I am sure that there are more interesting places to try.
Nice trendy Italian restaurant
After our really bad exeperiance at Coco restaurant, the concierge at the Mandarin Orental recommended, and booked, LouLou for us. And he was right, we had a nice evening. Nice service and good food. One downside (but I'm very picky), they dont have good red wines by the glass (or half bottles). At the end, I found a wine, but in Paris I was craving for a nice Bordeaux (or at least a Brunello, considering LouLou is serving Italian cuisine).
celebrated my birthday here.
We had fried calamari, grilled octopus, truffle pizza, truffle pasta, tiramisu and millefeuille. I loved everthing! Pasta was so so but everthing else were amazing! Desserts were 10/10!
