We had dinner at ABaC, Enigma and Restaurante Hofmann prior to dining at Lasarte and Lasarte blows them all out of the water. They are certainly worthy of 3 Michelin stars and should absolutely be on the San Pellegrino top 50 list. Every dish was exceptional in both taste and presentation with service to match. Lasarte's policy discriminates against solo diners.
If one person wishes to have the Michelin- Starred tasting menu dining alone, they must pay double the normal price. In other words, they will only allow a reservation for one person if that person pays the same price as it would cost for two people. They can run their business as they wish, but such discrimination is disappointing.
A nice fine dinning restaurant
The most expensive among the four three Michelin stars restaurants but I find it just another fine dinning restaurant. I can't say any dish is not taste good but none of it was fantastic. I love bread and even they have a variety of bread, they didn't impress me. The ambience is good and looks expensive and the service is detailed.
A truly deserving 3-Michelin Star restaurant
I am incredibly embarassed! I swore I had already written a review for this extraordinary restaurant where we had the pleasure of dining a few weeks ago! This restaurant deserves more than five stars! Let's just begin with the layout of the space -- it is incredibly private. There are only two groups seated in each space, which is partitioned off with either a half glass or a half wooden wall. And the seating is usually a two-top in a cozy corner and then a 4-6, far enough away that you feel entirely in your own world! This was followed by the most sumptuous amuse-bouches, of which they were abundant, at least seven, each equally as delectable as the previous! Being a Spanish speaker, I was able to gush tirelessly about every dish, and being a gastronomy aficionado only lent itself to impress the manager enough that after our meal, we were invited to meet the entire staff in the kitchen! Meticulous kitchen, 14 staff, all so proud of their jobs! When we were ready to leave, the manager called a taxi for us and had us wait at our tables until it arrived. This kind of exceptional service must be noted very much at the top of this review, given this has never happened anywhere else. And not to be forgotten the food, every single dish was of course nothing short of heavenly! A quick example -- the wagyu beef was served with dollops of probably seven different flavors around the edge of the plate -- one was a mushroom and beet mixture, very earthy with a wonderful scent and one we just couldn't deconstruct. My husband was certain there was some type of mustard or radish involved. Once in the kitchen we were able to speak to the chef directly who told us it was a homemade umeboshi paste! It was an explosion of flavor in my mouth, and forced me to request more so I could repeat the experience on the pretext that I needed to make sure it was the right one, but they knew! This restaurant truly lives up to what a three-starred restaurant should be-- we've been to many, and none can compare to Lasarte by many furloughs! They win! Thank you Chef Paolo, Joan Carles Ibáñez, our brilliant restaurant manager, Antonio Coelho, our Maître, and the entire staff for the BEST experience ever, we will certainly be back to see you soon! Fantastic experience ! Making reservations was easy and the restaurant itself was gorgeous. The server and sommelier were amazing and the food was just beyond ! It was pricey but the 4 lunch courses came with tons of bread, petit fours and multiple amuse bouches. Every course was delicious, with deep flavors and beautifully plated . Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!!

Presentation-wise, everything was beautifully set up, and the attention to detail was clear. The wine pairing was also well done. That said none of the dishes really stood out to me flavor-wise, that didn't was really good but noting that made me have another one. As for the ambiance, it wasn't quite my style--very quiet and a bit empty, which made it feel like we were the only ones there. That's more of a personal preference, though it might be perfect for someone else. The croissants were the highlight for me, paired with their flavored butter.
An experience and one of must dos in Barcelona
Our first time dining at a 3 star Michelin starred restaurant, Family of 3 from Boston MA with 11yo. We had reserved for 8pm dinner but due to scheduling changed to lunch. We were glad to do so as the tasting menu meal goes for 3hrs. The inside of the restaurant is extremely upscale and modern and well appointed. We started at 1pm and ended around 4:30pm. Some reasons for this which I note later on. The location of the restaurant is first floor of Monument hotel, located a few steps from Casa Mila (La pedrera). We were a bit unsure how the meal would go as it was our first time at such a fancy place. We waited for a bit at the lobby , and at 1pm we were led in to the restaurant, where we were met and greeted by 3 or 4 staff members all dressed in impeccable suit. They took our bag and let us to our table, which was large for our family of 3. Our table was serve by a staff of at least 5 or 6. Two of them stood close by just waiting for our requests or needs. This part was new to us. The master sommelier and a second sommelier greeted us and the meals started with local Cava. We had the shorter tasting menu with 10 dishes while our 11yo had a la carte. There was also a larger tasting menu which we thought would be too much food. I paired with Spanish Wines wine tasting. One of the reds (rioja 2019) was so impressive that at the end of the meal I purchased a bottle to go. The pairing wine list was hand written by the master sommelier on a fancy notebook, which he updates every few weeks. What a unique touch. Each of the dishes was just phenomenal. The physical dish(plate) the food is served on are in itself an extension the meal’s visual experience . The standing by staff constantly caters you by cleaning each of crum and refilling any fluids. My wife spilled sauce on the tablecloth. This was remedied by the staff by placing a white handkerchief-size cloth on top to cover it up. Just so she would not need to look at it between dish changes. At some point we were served bread. It came on a large cart, and they sliced the bread of our choosing in front of you. This was paired by olive oil which was specifically made for the restaurant. Tasted exquisite. The whole meal was a fabulous experience. At one point, the next table was having drinks and a drinks cart was brought out. I inquired about the cart to the sommelier, and found out it had some exotic stuff. One of them was a bottle of 1972 dessert wine. About my age. Asked for a glass and savored it. I shared with the sommelier on the happiness of experiencing a bit of history and sadness in seeing it vanish. He said wines are ment to be drunk. Wise. Chef Martin came out to greet towards the end of the meal. We also asked for a ‘tour’ of the kitchen as our 11yo was curious. One of the staff ready accommodated us. Our meal concluded and we were greeted out next to the wine cellar. The sommelier showed us a bottle of 1870 wine. Unbelievable. We may have been the last ones to leave the linch meal on that day. What a fantastic experience. The dishes, the service, the atmosphere, the staff. If your budget allows the experience of dining(or lunching) is a-must while in Barcelona.
Great Food. Spanish *** atmosphere
Great food experience, every course was absolutely delicious. Atmosphere does not align with that. For non-Spanish guests, harsh lighting, huge tables and an army of waiters in black suits with no real communication do not make the evening a pleasure. Do come for the food but be prepared for what ***dining means here.
Lasarte was an absolutely delightful experience.
We truly enjoyed our dinner here for my birthday. Have always wanted to try a Michelin dining outside of the USA and heard Spain has many amazing ones. Lasarte is a 3 Michelin Starred restaurant. We found Lasarte highly recommended from a travel book and it did not disappoint. We had a set menu that came with a variety of appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. We were first poured a glass of champagne and then selected a wine for the night. Our Sommelier provided excellent options for us to choose from. Every dish had its own uniqueness and beautiful presentation across the board. The butter was beautifully plated in different colors too. Ambience was very comfortable, modern, dimly lit- very romantic setting and perfect for my birthday date. Our servers were attentive towards us and continuously checked in on us. Overall, we were very pleased with the incredible experience and would definitely recommend to anyone going to Barcelona to give this a try!
Great Sommelier & Best Pigeon
This Michelin 3 Stars restaurant is definitely an outstanding one, I had the best pigeon so far which beat up other Michelin 3 Stars’s!!! The services were great from we walked in till we left, ended up a private tour to view the kitchen and the chef table guided by the handsome Italian Sommelier. We had a very nice white wine vintage 2009 to celebrate our wedding anniversary in 2009 🥰
Back for second visit after five years, and just as great as we had remembered it!
Fabulous food, service and ambiance. Of course one would expect this from a Michelin three-star restaurant, but we have been a several three star restaurants around the world, and some actually fall short of expectations. Lasarte does not. We were particularly impressed with the "regular" matching wines for the tasting menu - all were excellent and they actually provided a full glass - plus a top-up if you wanted it - for each wine. The prior evening we had eaten at another three-star restaurant in Barcelona and had the "premium" matching wines - which were not as good and the servings were very small - which is very annoying when one is paying that much money for a world-class experience.
Good food and service, but!
An elegant 3 star restaurant, it lives up to its rating with wonderful, flavorful food offerings, superb service and a memorable dining experience. My only bone to pick with this restaurant is their dress requirement , which, like many restaurants , unfortunately, is never enforced and stretched by many low brow clients. When we were their there was a party hosted by what appeared to be a plumber who was not at all embarrassed to give us a view of his plumbers crack. How is that for an appetite stimulant? When paying 400 Euros per person to dine it would be nice to not have to view that. I wish restaurants would set a rule and stick to it. Or, lower the price of food when these type of people are in the house. Are they that desparate?
Well deserved 3-star restaurant
Six of us ordered from the dinner menu instead having a tasting menu (more than 10 courses). The food was innovative and shown/tasted with great attention to details. Service was excellent and friendly, a well deserved 3-star Michelin restaurant indeed.

Hahahaha I don't know where to start, I never have so much fun in a restaurants all the experience we have is over the heaven hahahaha, really,,, really,,, really good food to celebrate my Birthday. The service ahhh!!!!!it's just haven and the ambience is perfection, all good and wine omg it just to die for, Ofcourse this place chef is 12 Michelin and the restaurant it self is 3 michelin star,, Ofcourse the food and service is over the top. This is one life experience, I will come back here when I visited Barcelona.

I don’t think you can find or create a food experience better that this…..if it was not for the view( it would be 100% if it was overlooking the sea or on the side of a mountain) but it was gorgeous.Served by young beautifully trained able staff it was 95% the 5% loss being in a city centre not in the beauty of rural spain….perfect starters…fabulous bread…exquisite meats…exceptional deserts.

Overall: for my 100th review I decided to review the pinnacle of creativity, imagination, and gastronomy only found in the best of Michelin restaurants. Lasarte by Martin Berasategui hits all the notes of fine dining with ~13 ish courses of unthinkable combinations. Since the menu always changes I'll highlight what they do exceptionally well overall. Ambience/Decor/Service: I'll start off by mentioning that their accommodations for food preferences/allergies go above and beyond. They communicated very quickly over email about what they were gonna substitute and printed the different menu out when we arrived. As per usual the team of waiter/waitress sommelier and chef described the dishes down to every detail as if they were in charge themselves and were open to answering any questions on the process. While the restaurant was very simple fine dining decor wise, the artistic creativity in the food made up for it. Food: taste wise and quality wise it was everything you'd expect but what really stood out was just the creativity in the dishes. I can not even begin to describe it as my simple mind can not comprehend the 3 star gastronomy that they cooked in the kitchen. The blend of flavors and specifically the ordering of them. The texture from bubbly to crunchy/crispy to tender smoothness. Similarly, the way the plates were a very neutral white almost allows the chef to artistically create the pieces on a blank canvas. Lasarte hits on every possibility one could imagine in food.
A place to celebrate
We dined here as a celebration whilst on a trip to Barcelona and this was an impeccable experience. The quality of the service was exceptionally orchestrated. The sommelier made an outstanding wine recommendation after listening to my description of preferences. We enjoyed every mouthful of the meal. This is an expensive meal but if you have something to celebrate it is worth splurging.
Absolutely superb experience
Extraordinary restaurant. Unbelievable experience. The food is magical, the service is on point throughout, and the ambience is perfect for a lovely meal. The sommelier knows what he’s talking about without sounding condescending, and everyone is warm and welcoming. One of the best restaurants I have ever been to, would highly recommend for anyone looking for somewhere special.

decor was definitely non 3 stars michelin it shares space with another restaurant in the hotel ground floor service i would consider acceptable but the food ar the premium cost was not up to par actually the starters that were presented before the prix fix dinner was better than the dinner into the 4 or 5th course the taste of dishes were interesting but not in a good way pretty to look at but i would skip them it was a let down for me personally

I visited back in June 2023.
One of the best meals I've ever had, but my rating is addressing the customer service / response I received regarding a potential food poisoning concern at Lasarte. For 3 Michelin starred restaurants, I like to fast for at least 12-24 hours before the meal to save my appetite. We had a reservation on 6/2 for 1pm and ended at approximately 5pm - we both really enjoyed the experience as well as every dish. It was definitely one of our favorite Michelin star restaurant experiences, and we enjoyed meeting the chef and management team as well at the end. About 14 hours after the meal, I woke up at 2am with extreme nausea, vomiting, body aches, and bowel issues for the rest of the night. I had not eaten or drank anything besides water after dining at Lasarte due to our meal ending close to 5pm and us still being quite full the rest of the day. The symptoms went away after about 36 hours, but I unfortunately had to lie in bed for the rest of my time in Barcelona with terrible body aches and nausea, not being able to eat anything. I understand the risk of raw seafood, but this has never happened to me before. My partner did not experience anything at all so I do think it may have just been a one-off instance as I have a stronger stomach than he does. What I felt was disrespectful was that I wrote an email informing them that this happened shortly after I felt better, and the customer reception department at Lasarte wrote back that I did not have food poisoning and that this must be true because they "asked other guests" if they felt bad after the lunch. There is absolutely no way that they would have reached out to their guests asking how they felt after the lunch / if they had food poisoning. The response left me with a bitter feeling - I would have simply appreciated an acknowledgment that this incident may have occurred and that they would monitor this or keep an eye out, not an attempt at gaslighting me that I did not have food poisoning. Most of the courses consisted of raw seafood and it only takes one tiny bad oyster or something else to cause food poisoning. I would not have blamed it on Lasarte and would have seen it as simply a one off incident. Otherwise, this was one of my favorite meals - if it weren't for the response I received, I would have rated Lasarte a full 5 stars for sure.
Mediocre tasting menu
Tasting menu with pairing wine was not worth 1000€ /two people. Focused on seafood, the only meat portion was just lard. The menu had changed. A lot to eat, but the atmosphere was not the best. Young staff, did not convince.
I would highly suggest going elsewhere in Barcelona to eat.
We came for lunch before heading on a cruise and made it clear in the reservation we needed to leave prior to 3pm. I asked the waiter to bring me either fish or beef for lunch because I have a dairy intolerance and did not know the ingredients of the food. The waiter brought me a beet risotto that was so salty I could not eat it. Apparently the chef insisted upon making this for me. They sent it back, but told me the ox would take a bit to cook. it took so long that my friend asked the staff to not bring it out as we had to leave shortly. the waiter ignored this and seemed very upset I wouldn't eat it since the chef took so much time to make it. They finally took it back, but shortly after brought out dessert. everything fell on deaf ears. They refused to listen when we said we had to leave and we're really rude to my friend as she was paying the bill. I was appalled at how we were treated. It honestly ruined the day especially since my friend was so excited to eat at the restaurant.
Just wow !!
What an incredible experience it was like watching a ballet perfectly choreographed. The servers glided around the floor in harmony delivering the most incredible food. Each dish presented and tasting of the highest standard I’ve had in a while. I can see why this has 3 well deserved stars. Thank you to everyone that produced it. Bravo

The food was amazing, imaginative preparations of regionally sourced ingredients including the sublime Galician aged ox steak. The attention to detail and military cadence of delivery and clearance of dishes was a pleasure to behold. I asked for a Catalan wine and the bottle suggested was excellent. Would recommend unreservedly!

Even if you are a leading, Michelin starred restaurant in the city of Barcelona, arrogance should never be the leading trait anyone should use to describe your restaurant. Lasarte, bottom line, is disappointment. We came here for our honeymoon. We went with the tasting menu. Our wait staff requested drink orders and I requested a cocktail that contained tequila. She looked at me with judgement and disgust. Okay, a glass of wine it is. Went with the house recommendation. The courses came out. One of the courses was spilled on my shirt. Of course at a nice restaurant we dressed to the nines. While a waiter promptly came to our table and provided a cleaning aid, the mistake was otherwise overlooked and the management never followed up. Ironically, a wait staff made a mistake at a table adjacent to us to which the management showed up and provided a bottle of wine on the house. Let alone the Ambiance and appears of the restaurant is elevated. No matter who the guest, all guests should be treated the same, at least openly. Inconguent behavior and judgment of drink choices isn't how a several euro meal should be summarized. Would spend my well earned money somewhere else.

Located only 15m from the crowds shopping on Passeig de Gràcia, the main dining area is sealed off from all that noise. Strangely, the spacious, modern design feels kind of dark, even with 4m ceilings and sunlight pouring in through a dozen light shafts. Wierd. The service is on the very formal side of fine dining, but the staff was personable, helping me with a few Catalonian nuances I did not understand. The food was excellent, especially the pickled oyster / hibiscus / shiso granita (sorbet) and the crustacean ravioli / burrata (cheese). Of course I'll return. 2023 05 11. M3.

Absolutely the most expensive meal I've had in my life, but I don't regret it one bit and it was worth it. My experience at Lasarte was truly a cut above the rest, and at those 3 Michelin star prices, I was expecting it to be! To be transparent with cost, it was about 330 euros per guest with the cava and spring water at the beginning of March 2023. The ambiance was very elegant and clean, with soft music playing and the waiters changing our cutlery and plates with every course. It was like a choreographed waltz and I kept saying "thank you" with every change because I was not used to this kind of service LOL. The menu we got to try was very seafood heavy which was a huge win in my book. Seafood is so pricey in the states so it made the meal feel way more worth it! We got glasses of cava to go with our meal and it was nice! I'm not a big wine person but I still enjoyed it. I'll attach photos of each dish and the menu to show rather than tell, but each dish was a marvel. Even the smallest components of the dishes were immaculately prepared and seasoned to perfection! The only dish I didn't love was the squid with egg yolk, but even then, that one was still pretty good. My friend and I were expecting to still be hungry afterwards but after FOURTEEN dishes and a round of fresh bread later, I was absolutely demolished. I don't think I've ever had a dining experience like Lasarte, and I look back on it so fondly. My first 3 Michelin star restaurant, and I had such a great experience!

An amazing restaurant experience with food that was totally beautiful in presentation and taste. An experience like no other and definitely worth the wait to get the booking. A must visit for any foodie fan and visitor to Barcelona… cannot recommend it enough👌🏼👍🏻
Excellent food and drinks in a very "triste" ambience
I was invited by my asian business partner during the WMC Barcelona, my expectation was very high. In fact, I have to say that the food was excellent (maybe not everybody's taste with all these flowers and foams) but very creative and well presented, the sommelier was word class and shared his broad knowledge of Spanish wines with us. But the atmosphere in the restaurant was terrible. Full of waiters who seemed to be afraid of their boss, who was continuously chasing them from one table to the other, sort of military operation and none of the staff seemed to enjoy their work.I do not blame the young waiters, they just followed instructions, but the manager does interpret his job in a very strange way. And this bad ambience was also transmitted to the guests. Where I live, good food and beverage should always be joyful and positive, relaxing....forget the time for some moments. This is unfortunately not the case in this restaurant. We have a very good tip to the staff and I hope that the got it...Next time we ask for self service...lol
Fabulous experience!
I’ve been to many Michelin stared restaurants around the world, and I can easily say that Lasarte is one of my top three. Creative and tasty food, perfect service, and wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I can't praise this restaurant highly enough. I took my wife to Barcelona for a surprise 3 day break and pre booked Lasarte for her Birthday meal .The food looked and tasted like everything a 3 star should. Every mouth full in every course was just stunning. The service was so attentive they couldn't do any more for us. Every waiter and waitress had a lovely welcoming smile. The Champaign was reasonably priced. The toilets where spotless and it is perfectly situated right in the heart of where all the top shops are. Thank you to everybody from Lasarte for making my day and especially my wifes birthday something we will both remember for ever. We will definately be back
One of the most profound meals.
The appetizer sequence literally brought tears to my eyes -the intricacy and the integration was, well, almost symphonic in its movement between the four part appetizer.
Perfection
I don’t remember what our lunch at Lasarte cost and frankly I don’t really care! This was perfection . Each dish - a la carte - was beautiful and tasted complex and astonishing. The risotto with fennel and lobster, the meat filled exquisite little ravioli ! Then ox . I had pigeon. No need for desert really as the sweets that came with coffee were superb. Perhaps too generous with the bread , but the different flavoured butters were lovely and the olive oil excellent. The service is correct but neither cold nor intimidating. Just superbly trained and executed with concentration. The ambience at Lasarte is perfect for a near perfect dining experience.

Lasarte is a fantastic restaurant located near a lot of high end shopping areas. The entrance is through a hotel, and once we got seated the service was incredible. This place gives you a lot of high end ingredients and for the price its very worth it. We got white truffle added to one of our dishes for 25 euros per plate and it was delicious. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to experience a 3 star Michelin for a decent price in Barcelona.

Made reservations at Lasarte Restaurant well in advance of our trip to Spain after comparing the menus of several three Michelin star restaurants.When the night came, we were excited. The service was impeccable. From the moment we walked through the door to the minute our coats and bags were handed back to us 4+ hours later, not a movement nor word was done or spoken out of place. Each dish was described meticulously and parts of service almost resembled a well choreographed dance.When it came to food, some dishes were absolute show stoppers while others left quite a bit to desire. My favorite of the night on this night's menu was actually not even listed! It was the starter featuring bruleed foie gras with a line of creamy onion sauce. It was velvety, creamy, and savory! A couple other standout dishes included the confit cod with a sour cream, mustard, and kale sauce and the squid tartare with egg yolk. The texture was playful and it was a very unique dish.Some other dishes really missed the mark for me including a seafood salad which was so briny, it was equivalent to licking the ocean. If the intent was to capture the sea, it went above and beyond but it was just an unpleasant flavor profile. The pigeon was also delivered blue. I know that pigeon and other game fowl are often cooked to just medium rare but this guy could probably fly if pieced together again. In all seriousness, $280 for the amount of dishes served with the service presented was very worth the experience.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FluffyStar64, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* FluffyStar64 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FluffyStar64 for any questions Peter may have as FluffyStar64 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Lasarte Barcelona to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FluffyStar64 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FluffyStar64's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Lasarte Barcelona!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
