Great option eating in or take out
They have a small and excellent menu which has consistently delivered good food. Popular with locals and tourists alike, especially as they have frequent celebrity sightings. Their salads and pizzas can be ordered for take out which we’ve done several times, they are excellent and ready very quickly. They make a killer burger, lunch only, highly recommend. Owner is around and keeps an eye on things which is probably why they have maintained the quality over the years. We noticed a slight decline in the quality of the food in last year or two.
Pretty , pricey , dull and flavorless .
Stopped by for a late lunch with the family . Seated promptly by a friendly hostess , from there it was downhill . Our servers demeanor was a bit ….aggressive ? The upselling was off putting to say the least . We ordered 3 pizzas , a roasted cauliflower dish , a beet salad , and a forcefully pushed gnocchi …. The mushroom pizza had one variety of mushroom on it , the wildly flavorful enoki . Needless to say , this pizza had zero mushroom flavor but it also had the added bonus of zero cheese or seasoning flavorings . Meh . The squash blossom pizza was so darn pretty , shame the only taste came from the mild herb spread on the crust . The salami pizza was just a sloppy mess , with a terrible aftertaste from the sausage ? The roasted cauliflower , again pretty to look at , but totally forgettable. ( roasted cauliflower is hard to get wrong .) The beet salad was the one truly good dish , the pantry at least knows what they are doing . They could be a little more generous on the goats cheese . The gnocchi though was the real crime here . Heavy , dense clumps in bland cream sauce not worthy to be called “ gnocchi “ ….maybe leaded flour balls ? My digestive tract will never forgive me . I suggest this kitchen reintroduce itself to salt and pepper … All in all , if you’re looking to spend way too much for flavorless food , just for the the status of being in the “ it “ spot , go for it and good luck .

Great pizza and some of the best soup you’ll ever have! Located in beautiful Carmel, La Bicyclette has service as amazing as their food. Definitely recommend putting Chile oil on your pizza. 10 out of 10 recommend for your next visit to Carmel by the sea!

Top list visit at Carmel. Recommended by different local friends, this place is magic in Carmel! Even if you have to wait for a table, it’s worth it. Delicious flavors, great service. Linguine pescatore, a must! Fichi e rucola pizza, and enjoy the passion fruit crème brûlèe!!

Super cute and Casual. They appologized for the service saying they were short staffed. They were so good we didn't even notice! The food was easily the best we had while in Carmel. It was a spur of the moment get away so I did not do my normal research before hand. They usually book weeks out and we were lucky to get in for a 2 pm lunch! Had the Fig pizza, stone fruit salad and roasted cauliflower with Romesco sauce. LOVED it all! we were stuffed but went for the chocolate mousse for 2 which could have served 8. Will make it a dinner stop next time by planning ahead! Can't say enough about the waitstaff and the management! They were the best!
Wonderful dining experience
Wonderful dinner, had duck breast, salad, oysters, and escargot. All was amazing; the desserts were great also; highly recommended
Great for breakfast and dinner
A great place to eat for any meal. During this visit, we had breakfast. The avocado toast was good, yet it was a bit difficult to eat. There were too many toppings to pick up, and the bread's crust was challenging to cut through. His French toast was delicious.
Best restaurant I ate at in Monterey Area
Came here on a whim for a lunch. It’s a lovely space on a relatively quiet corner in Carmel. The food was simply wonderful, the best I had in over two weeks here in the Monterey area. The presentation was especially next level
Excellent lunch spot in Carmel by the Sea!
We really enjoyed lunch at this well-known restaurant in Carmel by the Sea on a Monday in early June! We did not have a reservation but we were there early in the day and didn't have to wait (when we left, the wait was long if you didn't have a reservation). The design and vibe are "French bistro" but the menu is more Italian. We shared an incredibly delicious Caesar Salad (honestly one of the best I've had), a pepperoni pizza and a 1/2 bottle of wine (it's a great touch to offer 1/2 bottles.). The pizza was on the high end of good, but not "excellent."
Get a reservation
Plan ahead and make a reservation! This was on the top of all the reccomendation lists and for good reason. We started with the mushroom caps and oysters, then had the catch of the day (halibut) and the steak for our mains. Both were perfect. We ended with the chocolate mouse for 2. I thought that was ok. Wine list was perfectly paired with our meals.

* Peter can now talk to ElaborateHouse74 for any questions Peter may have as ElaborateHouse74 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ElaborateHouse74 now uses their connections at La Bicyclette Restaurant Carmel-by-the-Sea to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ElaborateHouse74 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
