DECA+BOL Vail Reviews
We've eaten here twice and loved it both times.
I'm surprised that it's not rated higher here on Yelp. The atmosphere is a little clubby but both times our service was professional and attentive and the food was outstanding. The dishes include both shareable and mains, with a variety of options. We order a lot and sample. The poke is one of our favorites, as our the lamb lollipops. We will be back for a third time on our next trip to Vail.

Had a great dinner at Deca tonight! Started with the Buffalo wings smothered in garlic parm sauce. So good! Also enjoyed the empanadas which were tasty. The best part was the terrific cocktails made by our server, Brandon. He recommended the Reuben which my husband loved. My daughter liked the Buffalo chicken flatbread and I loved my Winter greens salad with blackened chicken. Everything was delicious. A great place to add to your list. Bonus - a cool bowling alley in the back of the restaurant. Enjoy!
A great day in Vail Village.
We had an absolute blast at BOL with our family. The environment is over the top nice, they even have fancy bowling shoes ! 🎳 The food is not at all what I expected for a bowling ally....the kids had steak and fries and buttered pasta with grilled chicken. The adults had the undon noodle lettuce cups, a Rueben with super fries, and the Halibut with orzo and asparagus. Every thing was VERY good but the Halibut was fabulous! In addition we had several of the mock-tails which were the best I've ever had. I had a no-groni and liked it better than the real thing. 💕 The service and staff were friendly and welcoming. This is more of a fine restaurant with bowling for kicks on the side. I highly recommend a visit to BOL.
Rude Staff and Incompetence
We made a reservation in person weeks ago so that we could take our grandkids bowling and have lunch. We got there today and no record of our reservation and the staff couldn't care less. The man that took our reservation was there and he had no concern that he screwed up. No apologies. The management needs to consider a complete overall of the staff. We have been there before to bowl with our grandkids and had a mediocre experience. They were so disappointed. Never again.
Delicious!
A very attractive and comfortable restaurant. The food and service were excellent. The Greek salad was delicious and large enough for three to share. Thoroughly enjoyed the halibut entree which was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My friends said the espresso creme brulee was the best ever! We also enjoyed the background music selection. Would definitely recommend.

Also confused why we had such a long wait to be seated, because when we were seated the restaurant was basically empty. I feel like I wasted a night out in Vail by going here. Luckily, staff realized how badly they messed up and we got to bowl for free.

I will just list what happened to explain my experience 1.
Ordered salad and didnt come 2. Server gave attitude and said its because we ordered as appetizer and not starter 3. Both appetizer and starter passed and everyone getting entree and then salad comes after 1.5 hrs. 4. Now the entree and sides did not arrive. 5. Server gives attitude and says we didnt order when she even confirmed her order prior. 6. Never got beer after 2 hrs 7. Took away food we are still eating without asking 8. Gave us sides we never ordered 9. Missed other starters as well The only redeeming quality is the manager that tried his best to make it right which is only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1

I was skeptical going in based on previous poor reviews but I must say, we were pleasantly surprised! Located in Solaris complex with indoor payed parking lot attached. We came between Xmas & New Year's eve & could only get a 9 pm reservation since it was only reserved the same day. Would recommend making reservations at least a week in advance. There were zero bowling alley slots available for days ! We were seated with courtesy & our waitress checked in on us in timely manner. The ambiance including music is very upbeat. Several TV screens playing various sports in background. Started with Buffalo wings which were perfectly spiced & juicy. I tried the half chicken with mashed potatoes & baby carrots. Chicken was on par, succulent & flavorful. My husband had the NY Prime steak with broccoli which again didn't disappoint. Hoping to come back and try some bowling the next time we're in town.
Very expensive for the potions but the food is good.
I mean $25 for three small street tacos? Only in Vail...

2 mocktails. 1 cocktail. 1 order of fries. 3 bowlers. 2 games. 1 hour and 15 minutes. Over $200. I get that it’s Vail, but I’ll go to Chippers when we get back and spend that on a massage at that spa. I expected overpriced, but $50/30 minutes, ridiculous.
Vail lunch
Our family has been going to Vail for 20 plus years during the summer. We have a large family of 16 plus and frequented BOL over the past 5 plus years. Today we stopped in to bring a big group to have lunch. The host was vey rude to our group . His attitude was very arrogant and dismissive . One person does not always make a business but beware if you get a cold shoulder. Just a heads up to the management that something needs to change.
We got to the restaurant and we're not greeted by any staff.
We ordered drinks and were never asked if we wanted food or even a menu. The servers never asked us if we needed anything and continued to stand there as we asked for the bill. When we did ask, they didn't give it to us. We had to ask 2 other servers and eventually got it. When we asked they were very rude and blunt. It was very time consuming for just 6 drinks and we weren't aware of the 20% up charge for 6 or more guests as it wasn't advertised anywhere. I would not recommend

Our server Stephanie was the goat and gave us great food recommendations - charcuterie, tuna poke, and braised short ribs. All of it was delicious, but I wish we got the lamb lollipops too (per recommendation.) Wings smelled amazing but didn't try. Highly recommend!
Mixed feelings
The food was good and the server was very nice but don’t waste your time if you want to have a drink. My wife order a cocktail created by the bartender and emit was not good at all. It tasted like what I assume is what Lysol would taste. She asked to exchange the drink and the server told us that the bartender refused to exchange it. This is the first time I have ever heard a bar not taking back a drink. She then ordered another one which was less horrible but also tasted bad. If you decide to go these just stick to simple drinks or beer.
A different experience
We came to eat as opposed to bowl. Food was yummy, varied, flexible ( I am GF and DF) and well presented. We were a range of ages from 17-70 and liked the easy, unfussy menu options that were interesting and tasty. Some of our favourites were the Cheesesteak Flat bread, onion rings ( voted one of the favorites) and the sliders. The bar vibe was good and relaxed and a mix of age groups all eating there.
Great decor , arrogant service !
Really disappointed it is a great place and lovely vibe with music and decor but found the staff really off. A little arrogant especially in the bowling alley absolutely fine there was no availability until Saturday but said with such a smirk that made us feel actually we won’t come back. Such a shame . So different to The Four Seasons where we are staying who fall over themselves to be amazing and give great service . Get in touch with them to get some staff training!

They split our booth/table of 4 adults next to a group of 10 young kids and 6 adults - apparently the party maximum of 6 didn't apply to their party.The adults stood in the back & had a gossip sesh while the kids were left unsupervised in the lane - leaning on our screen, pushing the buttons, doing handstands in the lane, rough housing each other, taking our water, putting their grubby greasy kid hands in our bowling balls (side note; it's not easy to bowl with chicken wing grease in the holes).Spoke to the manager, a young man that had a flippant attitude & totally did NOT care about anything we had to say. No refunds because he "can't do anything about the past." Expected a way better experience after spending $400+ there.My advice would be to go later in the evening (we could only get reservations at 4:30pm) so you don't run the risk of parents treating this place like a Chuck E Cheese/social hour.

I love this place.
I come everyone I'm visiting vail. We weren't able to go bowling because it was very full. Highly recommend if you're trying to bowl during the holiday season to make that reservation in early December.
I had the most amazing time with my friends here.
We started the night with a fun activity of bowling. Bowling had the latest technology with additional games you could play like angry birds. Then had the most amazing short ribs of my life. Also had the arancini and Cesar salad which were amazing. The service was super friendly and quick. Definitely will be back here.

I'm a Vail local and this is my favorite restaurant in the valley. AMAZING vibes and even better food!My go to dishes are the short rib and berry picker salad. The servers were so accommodating + friendly (we had light bites while bowling and then sat down for a full meal afterwards). Fresh food, upscale atmosphere, and social vibes with lots of people there. 10/10 would recommend!
We took a group here after a soccer tournament.
I called a month ahead to make the reservation and was not given any information regarding their inability to do separate checks or that they would be automatically adding gratuity to the bill for the group size (10). I tried to work with the server to order through him instead of going to the bar but he was extremely rude and simply replied that the system couldn't do separate checks and left it at that so I group ordered directly from the bar. When I received the bill, they charged gratuity on the bowling (no drinks or food). I think I've complained at a restaurant maybe twice in my life but why would I pay gratuity on the bowling? That's literally what I paid for - shoes and bowling, there was no service involved. When I said I wasn't going to pay it the server said 'that's your right' but then very rudely blamed me for him not making any money that shift. I then asked to speak to a manager and was met with same rude attitude and echoed that I was taking money away from the server. I guess they expect that if you're in Vail you tip for just being there, not for actual service. The staff there was truly the rudest I have ever encountered. I would NEVER go back.
We had a group event here and it was awesome.
The set up and vibe was perfect. We had college football on the screens above the bowling lanes. Most our our group bowled, we all chilled, and everyone enjoyed the food.We had a variety a wings to start. We ordered the rest of our food from the catering menu. The true definition of good food is when you're full but you keep eating. This place fits that definition. I had to roll myself out.Let's talk about the bar. FANTASTIC selection of spirits. Also, great pricing on highly coveted spirits. I won't quite priced as they can change, but 100% not what I expected to find in Vail. This is a super cool place to hang out on the weekend or have dinner. Love the concept they have and what they are doing.

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.
Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to DECA+BOL Vail at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the DECA+BOL Vail page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ElaborateHouse74, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ElaborateHouse74 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ElaborateHouse74 for any questions Peter may have as ElaborateHouse74 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ElaborateHouse74 now uses their connections at DECA+BOL Vail to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ElaborateHouse74 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ElaborateHouse74 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ElaborateHouse74's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at DECA+BOL Vail!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
